I'm a big fan of deep fried anything, but butter? Like, a whole stick, in the deep fryer? Doesn't it just liquify and ooze out? Oooh, actually, that's starting to sound pretty good!

DH and I are going to the Plant City Strawberry Festival tomorrow, where we can at least pretend to be vaguely healthy with all the strawberries! Doesn't matter if they're covered in whipped cream or chocolate, they're still fruit and in my mind, still good for me!

They apparently freeze it, then coat it in batter, then fry it.

I saw this on Oprah. Oprah and Gayle went to the Texas Fair and tried it. It looked amazing! I hope it makes its way to Florida. *

I have seen it already at both the FL State Fair in Tampa and the Strawberry Festival in Plant City...for the last 2yrs or so...

That may be a reason for me to go to the county or state fair. I hardly go to those. I just don't get the appeal of pig racing. I tend to go to the Renaissance Festivals, local school/church fairs, and city holiday fairs. I guess I need to expand and go to the bigger county or state fairs to get the really good stuff.

I love cotton candy! I'm not a fan of the overly flavored stuff, but rather the plain old spun sugar version with just a touch of coloring added.

I also like to go to the fair for this one booth that's always there. They make things like homemade noodles and cabbage and pigs in the blanket. Awesome stuff.

Am I the only one who feels nauseous thinking about the idea of eating deep fried butter? Im not a big butter eater however.

I fair or outdoor event I must have snow cone and cotton candy. LOL

I used to love:
corn dogs
funnel cakes
churros

But now all of that is off limits because of my egg allergy which really really stinks

Reading about all of these things is making me sooo hungry...and jealous!

I've got 6 months until our big fair, so this thread is a little torturous! But here goes:

fresh cut french fries w/malt vinegar

ice cream waffles

smoked turkey legs

funnel cake

deep fried pierogies

Kohr's orangeade

Grotto pizza

fresh apple cider (pressed before your eyes)

Roadarmel rotisserie chicken

Folk's deep fried onion rings

french fries again...

My fav fair food is Scones with raspberry jam - but alas, they are only at the Washington State fairs, so hard to come by - but I highly recommend them to anyone who happens to go the Western Washington Fair!!!

Those hand-dipped corny dogs and funnel cakes! Yuuummm!!!!
