Facebook... this might be a big "well, duh!", but

I think they track where you visit on the net, not just which ads you click on while on facebook.... I was looking up a hot dog joint about 25 miles from me called "JimmyJohns". Turns out that there is a chain sandwich shop called that... well I clicked on that ad while on google...

As soon as I went on to facebook a big ad for JimmyJohns was displayed on the bottom of the first facebook page I went on.

Rather coincidental, eh? Especially since I had never even known of the sandwich place until literally 20 - 30 seconds prior.

Hmmm I have no clue but similar things happen here on the Dis

Jimmy Johns is an excellent sandwich shop - my family loves it!

I thought cookies only applied to the site you were actually on. I never noticed them being shared by different sites before.

Yup....happens here at DIS too. And whoever writes the code is gooooood! I went to overstock and was looking at a pair of Carlos Santana Heels that I LOVED. I decided not to buy them. Wouldn't you know the danged things have followed me (in ads) all over the DIS for at least 2 weeks now! GRRR!!!!!!!

I had something similar happen to me last week when I was looking at a particular ceiling fan on the internet. I think it's TOO odd that now my google ads are always of that exact fan.

I've only been to Jimmy John's once, but it sure was good, we plan to go again soon, good prices, good food and cool atmosphere.
