Facebook Drama

I think you are seeing drama where there is none and making yourself crazy. I get that people love drama - I've got friends like that too and I avoid them the best I can!
I've deleted Facebook friends and I've been deleted. Sometimes you scratch your head and think Oh Well - and sometimes you're relieved! LOL
You can't control who your friends are friends with - nor should you. I know if I had a friend who dictated to me who I could or could not be friendly with I would be taking a second look at why I'm friends with them. And if your so called friends are sharing information that you don't want shared - well then - I'd be reexamining how true a friend they were and limiting what I tell them.
Time to stop the drama and reset those privacy settings.
Done and Done!

There is no drama on my facebook at all ever. :confused3 I must have boring family and friends. :rotfl:

I would weed out the drama queens/kings.

You don't have a Facebook problem, you have a friend problem. If you are friends with someone (on Facebook or in real life) and that friend "is giving info" on you to someone who you don't want her to....then stop giving her any information (on Facebook or in real life). Tell her you don't want her to share any "info" with this person, then set your Facebook (and your mouth, lol) so she can't get any info to give to the other.

Good luck! :goodvibes

Me, too.

I have a friend who only posts "woe is me" statuses. Like: "why does it hurt so bad?", trolling for attention. Then it's always, "I have a headache" when concerned friends press to find out WHAT hurts!

I just scroll past drama. You don't have to read everything.

Only people I know on my FB are people I actually know or family. No drama so far. But I only have 43 friends on my list lol. My sis on other hand has over 400. I wouldn't want that many lol On FB or real life. And if someone posts something I don't like or agree with I just ignore it. Really FB is kinda dumb. If it weren't for my best friends and family out of state I wouldn't have an account.

Facebook used to be fun.. then it wasnt. Then I unfriended a few people, then found out that that ENRAGES people. WHY? WHAT IS THE BIG DANG DEAL? Anyway, I killed my whole account finally. I didnt want the drama in my life... and I was serious enough to kill it. You know, life is so much sweeter without having people PEER at you from the outside in so many ways that we have these days... even DIs is PEERING. And here, when it isnt so much fun anymore, I leave.

Maybe Im just a quiter.
But being a quiter is better than causing (or allowing?) such stupid stress to ruin my day, life, momentum, outlook... or whatever the case may be.

Girl, be happy.
Walk away. At least for a while if you cant do it forever.

Guess what..

Family of four here..

None of us.. Ever been on Facebook..

Folks we want to talk to, we do.. We share info, pics, etc no problem

You do understand the world still spun around and got along without Facebook, right?

Jesus guys, your life can move forward without stupid #%^^ social media....

And, no, we don't use a rotary phone :rotfl2:

Same can be said about the DISboards and yet you post here.

There is nothing wrong with not being on Facebook (or whatever), but no need to criticize those that enjoy posting on it.

I'm 28, have about 500 Facebook friends (college marching band and subsequent jobs will do that to you, lol!), and no drama. I agree with others, don't participate in the drama. It's ridiculous!

You do realize that some of us have family and friends who live far away, don't you?

And that it's nice for me to see pictures of my 2-year old granddaughter who lives 10 hours away?

I realize that my life will move forward without facebook, but I want to know how my far-flung family and friends who live all over the world are.

Off now to watch that adorable video of my granddaughter...again.

You not being on Facebook doesn't make you any better than those who choose to use the site. To be absolutely fair, I live really far away from my family ( 2,500 miles away) and besides phone calls, facebook has been easier for me to stay in touch with my family with pictures and videos.

Facebook isn't what causes drama, it is the PEOPLE who choose to create and engage in it. It's like blaming the telephone for an argument over the phone.

I feel some people are jumping all over that person without good cause. You guys are taking it personally... like she was saying something directly to or about you. I saw it as she was pointiong out that we CAN live without it. Its true. We WONT DIE without it. The original posted was looking for opinions, and hers is just another one. I didnt see that she was saying anyone on FB is in any way bad. I dunno- maybe she'll jump back on to defend what she said and explain it better than I, since I am only guessing.

*Just re-read it. She didnt say anything like facebook users are bad. She is entitled to her opinion... and she didnt direct anything at anyone that I saw/read.

People managed to send and share pictures, video, news, etc., with people all over the world before four or so years ago, when facebook really took wider hold, was what I believe the poster was saying. There are plenty of ways to stay in touch and do that stuff without ever getting on facebook, as more people do as they abandon it for the next thing now.

Bingo!

Folks act like there was no medium that worked prior to facebook. If you are just watching videos and seeing pics , well called email.

Facebook is just drama. Plain and simple. Sorry but I see family members that visit that spend more time updating their facebook, saying what they are doing, instead of spending time with the family.

Not to mention the games on there. The whole thing is a mess.

Heck our school (we have 12 and 14 year old, so middle and entering high school) really discourages the students from being on facebook. And we agree.

I have NEVER been involved in any drama on facebook nor has anyone I've been with spent time updating their status when they could have spending time with me.

Fine, we get that you don't use (or like Facebook), but Facebook is not "just drama". I'd state that it isn't even mostly drama - those with "Facebook drama" have "real life drama", "email drama", "phone drama", etc. In other words, it is the people that cause/like drama, not the medium that is to blame.

But, hey, if you enjoy it up on your high horse, have at it.

Be careful that you don't pull a muscle, trying to pat yourself on the back.

My daughter asked me to email her a video I'd recorded. She lives 10 hours away. I tried emailing it. Kept getting "email not sent" errors, due to the size. We tried using gmail accounts, hotmail accounts. Called tech support. Nothing worked.

I finally tried to post it on Facebook, used custom settings so only she and her husband could see it. Done!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I echo every word you said!

And other people act like it's a FACEBOOK issue, not a people issue. As many of us have said, it's a user issue not a facebook issue.

Many of us use facebook and haven't had negative interactions. Of course middle school students shouldn't be on facebook! I don't think they're even allowed according to the rules. Parents should be supervising their kids.

Mine kids were 16 when they got accounts and haven't had any issues. I joined at the same time they did to keep an eye on them. I enjoy seeing their pictures with their friends and we play "words with friends" together.

I've gotten back into regular contact with some of my cousins and other old friends. It doesn't rule my life, but it has enhanced it. The DIS has been way more of a negative in my life at times in terms of drama than Facebook!
