Facebook Contest- free cruise- scam?

There is a new facebook page (created 9/11) for the Disney Cruise Ship Fantasy. Supposedly if you like and share you are entered to win a cruise plus $2500 spending money.
I am sure it is fake, but what info are they getting that would make someone create this?

Yes, it's a scam.

There are scams for every cruise line out there like this. Most of them have a period before the apostrophe in the title for the page. They get you to like the page and this gives them access to your FB info to harvest and sell to others.

I've seen several of these scam pages lately. They either add a period to the end of the page name (like 'Disney Cruise Line.') or a subtle misspelling (like 'Disney Cruiise Line'). Always look closely at the page name. I've also noticed most of these only have a few hundred likes, which is highly unlikely for an official Disney facebook page.

Too bad people don't just remember that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Amazed at the people who like & repost these things.

This is like farming. It's pretty common on Facebook.

I think most of the things I see my friends post on FB is a scam. Free cruises, free Disney tickets, etc..., I don't trust any of them.

That is why Facebook exists. It is not a social media site. It is a data farming site.
