Are the auditions really hard? Do they do cuts or something? What do you exactly do?

My S looks like Aladdin, but not a theater or dance major, didn't do well.

BTW: You have to be different characters, Aladdin today, Jack Sparrow the next

PS Friends of Aladdin, Friends of Jack Sparrow.

Auditions are SUPER easy I just went to one last week. First you show up, then you will sign in they will take your height, then you will get a number. Then they split you into groups(at my auditions we were split into groups of 65 people) They will then take you into the audition room where you will learn a super simple dance. My audition dance was only 16 counts, we marched for 4 counts, did pivot steps for 4 counts, 4 count grape vine, then a 4 count turn with claps. They taught us super fast. Then we were lined up and we did it across the floor 3 times. Then they sat us down and called out numbers. If they called your number that means you move onto the next round of auditions.

Don't feel bad if you don't make it they're are only like 140 spots and they audition around 3,000 people nation wide. I have been a dancer for the last 5 years and I didn't make it. But its not a huge deal, Disney has a specific look and style that they are looking for, so they have to be picky and cut a lot of people. Also most people don't make it very far in their first audition, so move on with life and try out again in 6 months.

If you have any more questions I can totally answer them for you, and hopefully my comments helped a little.:)

My son went to an audition last month. He was initially in a group of 50 for the first choreography piece. They cut 40 of them. He then went to the animation portion, followed by a second choreography piece. There were over 300 people at the audition, so even when he was finished there were still people waiting to go through the last section. He didn't know how many people made it all the way to the end.

The thing to understand is getting through the entire audition does not mean you will be selected. The people who are looking for full time go into a "pool", and they can be called at any time over the next 6 months. College program applicants for Fall '14 will be notified by April 18. :)
