Ok, first and foremost, my son loved all the characters he met, and like I posted before. . . . it really didn't matter too terribly much to me what they looked like it was how they treated my son, how into their character they were, and I completely admire them for their desire to work in a hard position for what is certainly not enough pay. And I certainly do NOT believe that a face character should be drop dead model gorgeous, I'm just a little nit picky and thought a couple of the characters I saw might have been better casted as someone else, we grow up watching the cartoons and thus have it ingrained our minds what that character would look like in person.

that said, here are the pics of the Snow white and Cindy I mentioned before that I wasn't terribly impressed with (in looks alone, NOT with their character)

But look what that wonderful Snow White gave my son. . .

I also thought the choice of Peter in the parade was a bit off. . .

But you know, upon reflection . . . .
the Alladin we met in Adventureland left us with a wonderful impression, I swear he looked and acted JUST like him, and his VOICE was perfect. . . . but looking at the pic I took, I guess he didn't look as much like Alladin as I thought, further proof that CHARACTER is everything!

Oh, and our storyteller Belle was just the most perfect in my eyes, but maybe I'm partial cause she picked both my husband and son to take part. . .

And you know the Mickey at Ohana's was the best I've seen. . .

ok, ok, JK! :lmao: I just had to inject a bit of humor into a touchy subject. lol

I have to agree with you about that Snow White...that's the first Snow White I've seen that doesn't look good. The Alladin and Jasmine in your pics look good and Belle would be ok if she was 5-10 years younger. The others don't look very good IMO.

That certainly doesn't look like Snow White to me or DD who is 6. Not to hurt anyones feelings but not attractive at all. Cinderella also is poorly cast. Jasmine & Alladin look perfect for the part!

In response to the OP,

not everyone looks their best in every single picture and the princesses and princes are having to smile all day.

I say focus more on the interactions with the characters and enjoy yourself. As I heard one person say, "Just play along sir."

I've looked at some of the face characters and wondered how they got through casting because they just didn't have that look - just looked like they were in costume for Halloween. I had some friends when I did my CP that went to an audition and were just ripped apart. My old roommate *almost* got a 2nd audition. She's white, but has very almond shaped eyes so they were considering her for Mulan and thought they might be able to stretch to Pocohontas. They eventually decided on just cutting her (I'm guessing the thick Boston accent didn't help, LOL)

I've seen some great ones as well. We saw a Belle a couple years ago who was just absolutely gorgeous. Very tiny and petite, soft features and big brown eyes. Exactly what I'd have pictures for Belle.

We also ran into a Mary Poppins who was very good, and VERY in character. We took my cousin's kids (Jaylen and Skylar) into the tent and before they even made it all the way up to her, she started lecturing Jaylen on being a proper role model for his little sister. The look on his face was PRICELESS. Just like, "Who does this woman think she is?!"

:sad2:

FYI...a couple of these Face Characters 'friends' are DIS members, and reading these insults.

One I know of who's good 'friends' with Cinderella has definitely read this thread. :sad2:

It's one thing to say you experienced some characters you thought weren't the perfect face for the part... but to post their picture with an insult is just too much and not necessary, IMHO.

I'm so so sorry to those of you here who are good 'friends' of the face characters. Please don't take it personally. I think you all do a great job. :(

Amen to that. I think all the characters do a great job. Keep up the good work! :thumbsup2

I'm not sure that I can finish reading this thread. I think that it is mean-spirited to write many of the insults that I'm seeing, especially knowing that CM's read these threads. They are real people with real feelings.

If anyone knows any of these Princesses that are being picked on, please let them know that not everyone feels this way.

OMG! The Zoolander/Hair Club for Men "Eric" was Aladdin when we were there last :) LOL It's so funny to see these. He definitely was a more convincing Aladdin than the Eric seen there.

I just wanted to say that they all do an amazing job bringing fantasy to life for our children - and that our children would never have an image in their head of what these animated characters "should" look like because - well - Snow White doesn't even have a nose in the movie! :) :rotfl:

HOWEVER - I think it can be a lot like the Mall Santa theory - when they start looking *too* different, even a year between visits, kids pick up on it and it starts to make the whole facade seem less magical for them. :(

We have had an AAAAMAZING Snow Whites and Belles in two different places. I think they usually hit the nail on the head with them. We had a fabulous Cinderella at our first CRT even, and an okay one (attitude-wise) the second time. However, in that first experience with all the princesses, Aurora was just not great at all. She was pretty, mind you - they all are, without a doubt. But she had this nasty look on her face the whole time. I even captured it in pictures (I should have them scanned in, so you can see). Pocahontas was there and she was DROP DEAD GORGEOUS - without a doubt, like she walked off the set of the movie and became real. She was, from what I could tell, Native American. We haven't seen that Pocahontas since. :( It was 2 years ago.

The last time we went to CRT, I swear Elizabeth Berkeley (?sp) from "Striptease" and "Saved By The Bell" was Cinderella. I swear it! She was a dead ringer for Elizabeth. The adults got a giggle out of that.

My favorite, favorite "face character" is the Evil Queen. I know she wears makeup but my gosh - she's right on the money EVERY TIME. Cruella never seems to be as "larger than life" as she was on the movies. I guess she's okay, but I'd like to see her more ominous and overpowering, as a villain.

Wendy has been pretty good when we've been there, but I'm sad for her because she can blend into the crowd pretty easily. She doesn't necessarily stand out, unless she's with Peter (who has also been right on, when we've seen him).

I cannot WAIT to see Jack Sparrow! OMG! Can you imagine?!!?
There's a pirate's museum in the Keys that the Disney Cruise stops at. The Jack Sparrow on their website is a dead ringer for Johnny Dep a la CJS

I am so dissappointed by the people on this board. Do you honestly think that you wouldn't be hurting anyone by posting a picture and writing 'ugly cinderella' or 'unattractive snow white'? I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion of what a character is supposed to look like but when you are so downright rude and heartless to post such things where anyone can see it then you are simply a mean person who has no regard for people's feelings.
The performers at Disney work very hard along with all the other cast members and put in long hours and try their hardest to create magic. If you have anything to say about a character performer, please use your best judgement in how you say it and please don't post pictures. I can't believe that I would see a thread such as this on a family board. I used to love reading everyone's advice and tips and now I think that those of you who would write some of these posts on this thread are awful and enjoy hurting others. I am sure you would not like it if someone put a picture up of you and everyone said you were 'fugly' or 'looked like a man'. Please try to be a bit more considereate and a lot less tacky.

I completely agree! And as a triplet mom who is rapidly approaching 40, I would KILL to look anything like these lovely young women. I think they are all beautiful and without these face characters Disney would just not be as magical. And in our house we are terribly partial to OUR Princess Aurora who showed my Special needs DS more love and magic in one day than many will show in an entire lifetime. God bless all these wonderful young men and women who bring to life the most Magical Place on Earth.

The face characters I interacted with last week were Aurora, Belle, and Cinderella. Aurora and Belle were in EPCOT(Monday) and MK's Judges Tent(Wednesday) and Cinderella at 1900 Park Fare(Monday) and Judges Tent(Wednesday). They were all wonderful and very pretty. They treated me no differently than they did the little kids that went up to them. So, if anybody here reading this knows them, thank them for me. Aurora and Belle in particular were great because their movies are my favorites and those cast members could not have known what "their" movies mean to me.

I agree and I want to say "shame on you" to the people on this thread for having the nerve to actually rate the performers with numbers and posting pictures. It takes a great amount of courage for those performers to expose themselves to thousands of guests a day, knowing that they are being combed over by every critical eye. Also, the people who are chosen have to go through a very intensive training process to obtain these roles. Remember these are CARTOON CHARACTERS that you are comparing these real people to- characters drawn with physical features that defy genetics.
It is very difficult for Disneyto fill certain roles (like Jasmine) because of her very specific look requirements. Aren't you happy to be interacting with ay of these characters at all? Becuase the other alternative is simply not to have them available and that would please no one.
Please be considerate of the people who are woking to make magic for you. Please don't critique characters on a public website such as this and certainly not while in the presence of the characters themselves.
I hope the next time every one visits Disney Parks, you spend more time enjoying the fantasy of character interactions and less time trying to recruit for a modeling agency.

WE had nothing but great princesses. My DH especially loved our snow white at CRT... she was gorgeous!!! Not too skinny either. I did like the Belle better at PS in Norway than CRT... but they were both beautiful and awesome.

We really loved our Wendy... and saw her a PS as Alice... the kids never noticed... but I will never forget her... the way she was with my PDD son- she is an exceptional human being.

We love princesses! Even my 5 yearold... we are doing CRT and PSB again in 2 weeks because they were the highlights of our trip!!

Okay, I have to agree with the other posters that I'm not a fan of posting the actual pictures of those you don't like.

However, I have to add that this Aladdin is one of my favorites ever! He is in my signature giving DD the sweetest hug I've ever seen. Definitely my hero as DD was sooo excited after that.

AMEN!! I totally agree with you! :thumbsup2

O.K. I'm not going to respond with an opinion on the Disney characters (but I havent laughed so much in a while) Anyway, in regards to these Six Flags characters......um first of all, is that supposed to be Wonder Woman? she looks like the crack heads we have downtown.....and Since when does the Flash do Karate??? Thanks for the laughs!!!!

well, to anyone that would happen to be talking about my post(s) of pictures, apparently you did not READ MY POSTS.

None of anything I said should be taken as insulting, because it wasn't.
As I said before I was not judging their character or how they acted, which are the most IMPORTANT factors in my mind. I was simply stating that in MY (not my son's) opinion they did not look like who they were portraying.

I did not say they were not beautiful in their own way, or might not have been better casted as another character, or that they did not do a wonderful job. I SAID THE OPPOSITE. ALL the characters we came accross were WONDERFUL, if not especially the ones I posted pics of.
I NEVER said anything insulting, simply that they did not fit their roles in looks ALONE.
I could never EVER do the job these people do, let alone be so wonderful at it.

Give me a break.
