They don't. It's personal responsibility to wash your hands often and take any other precautions you might deem you need. You will find some spots where they have hand sanitizer available but it's not widespread, it's been proven that the best way to prevent getting sick is hand washing

Interesting timing—just a couple of days ago, the FDA issued a warning letter against purell to stop claiming without evidence that it can help to prevent flu. Best to stick to flu shots and frequent hand washing.
And the flu vaccine does not help against all the different mutations of the virus, so the best thing is just to wash your hands as often af possible

Yep, that’s why I said to also practice frequent hand washing. But hand washing alone can’t help you if someone sneezes/coughs in your face, so I recommended both.

I will say, I do wish the parks had handwashing stations at the entrance of buffets like they do on Disney Cruises. I always feel like those serving spoons at buffets are just coated with germs waiting to pounce on me.

Every surface at the park is a petri dish. It really is a matter of being aware

We went to the parks this month, and parks and cruise in Feb. 2018. I was incredibly nervous about the possibility of the flu popping up and zapping the vacation. Couple tips/what I did:

1. I carried a pocket mister of hand sanitizer. I know it is not 100% effective, but it does not hurt when going to gets those snacks, etc. I used it before eating anytime for myself and my kids.

2. Pump up on Edleberry before you go. Again, not 100% effective, but does not hurt.

Good luck!

I wish they required hand washing too! We aren't doing any buffets this time though.

We are heading that way soon!! Is Disney putting out hand sanitizer or anything to help with the spread of germs? I am just curious because they did when we were there in February 2018, although I think the flu was a bit worse that year.
Here now and not noticing anything other than. some wearing masks.

Thanks! We are avid hand washers, and all are vaccinated - except a breastfed baby who can't get a flu shot yet. Baby will be worn pretty much the whole time so no strangers in her face, and luckily she doesn't get down and touch things yet. We'll carry our own sanitizer to be on the safe side.
Hand sanitizer will kill colds but not the flu - found that out that hard way . . . .hand washing is the best option

I visit the parks weekly and have never got the flu, or the stomach flu that a lot of people get. And have never had a flu shot. It's all about the hand washing and being pro-active and not touching my face or nose or mouth when at the parks

We all get our flu shots ASAP, but yeah I agree. Aside from the shot as your back up, the best thing you can do is practice good hygiene. Wash your hands often (and your kids hands), real washing not just rinsing, and keep your hands off your face.

Nobody is going to admit it on the Internet, but if you stand in a busy public bathroom for even a few minutes you know the majority of people are not practicing that :scared:

Plus *always* choose paper towels over air dryers. Paper towels actually wipe off some viruses (true--look it up). And air dryers blow viruses from your hands all over the room.

Yup, I try my best to not touch any rails or things like that in queue lines as well.
