There isn't one!

On a side note, I don't understand the whole "My home resort is better than your home resort" mentality. Does putting down another DVC resort and/or praising your DVC resort help you to justify your decision? Everyone has different tastes and different things that appeal to them. The great thing about the DVC resorts is that they try to appeal to as many tastes as possible. So my advice is to enjoy your home resort, live with your decision, and be helpful and share constructive information about any and all DVC resorts.

Exactly no DVC resort is better than another DVC resort except in preference to certain people. They all have pros and cons.

I have stayed at all of them many times and found much to like and a little to dislike based entirely on my personal preference.

So Alex the answer to your question is there is not one. Pick the one that fits you best. But do know that DVC resorts while great, are not the same as Disney resorts. In some ways they are better and some ways not.

Then why isnt the Contemporary Flag ship it was the first Disney Hotel Ever made
First of all, Contemporary opened at the same time as Polynesian.

Second, the flagship resort of WDW is GF because GF is clearly better than Disney's other resorts. Yes, many deluxe amenities are shared, but the GF offers more luxury and a higher quality of service (such as better bath products, turndown service for all rooms, etc). GF is the flagship because it bests represents the service and quality that is (was) typical at Disney resorts.

As such, I would say Old Key West is definitely DVC's flagship. It has the largest villas, a homey community feel, and a peaceful setting that I think are the best representations of DVC.

Per Merriam-Webster Online:

flag·ship
Function: noun
Date: 1672
....
2 : the finest, largest, or most important one of a series, network, or chain <the company's flagship store>

And this is copied directly from the Member's site:

Disney's Old Key West Resort
Resort Services

Take advantage of a full range of amenities to make you feel at home at the flagship Resort of Disney Vacation Club

I just checked the WDW website and it shows this:

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is a Victorian-style Disney Deluxe Resort distinguished as the flagship hotel of Walt Disney World Resort.

So it appears GF meets the definition of flagship and OKW is a sentimental choice.

Well I'm just curious. I don't really know the answer either. It's just that quite often you make definitive statements with nothing to back them up.

Sorry, was running out the door with my wife calling me to come on. First, I apologize for the short and coarse nature of the post, it was not intended.

I don't think one can realistically look at the option in question and say that this was an attempt to devalue the points by increasing them for the purpose of cost alone. Many tried to make the case that this would happen with AKV and it didn't then either. You may disagree, that is up to you. Then again with VWL being the same as BCV and BWV preferred, BW view, maybe I'll have to reconsider my thinking. ;)
