Heading to the F&WF from October 21-26, possibly staying at YC or BWI. This is the first time staying at Disney during this time.

Does anyone have any tips or advice? Maybe some recommendations? Any input would be appreciated! :)

Since you are staying at YC or BWI you will have short walk to the F&W festival which in itself is awesome..

Tip 1 = There is a gift shop to the left when you go thru the World Showcase entrance from the Boardwalk area, grab a Mini F&W festival themed gift card, they will fund it with any amount you want and you re-charge it at any time if it is getting low on cash, it is fast and easy to pay for food or beverages at all the kiosks

Tip 2 = Water, if you are partaking in the drinking part of F&W festival remember to drink some water in-between the delicious wines, champagne's and beer's

Tip 3 = Have a great time :thumbsup2

I agree with getting the gift card! It's a great way to make sure you budget some money for F&W, and that you stick to it. There's so much good food, and it's not cheap, so you're going to want to eat quite a bit at Epcot. I would also say don't plan for any meals on the day(s) you're at Epcot. If you try stuff from most of the kiosks, you'll get full off of that.

And try the baklava from Morocco!

Thanks! That tip about the gift card I will definitely look into.

Oh baklava is so good, I can't wait to try it.

Book your room ASAP...there is VERY limited availability at both of those resorts during F & W esp, if you are traveling on a weeknd!!

LOVE F & W...my favorite time to visit the World!!

Have a great trip!

If you are on the DP then the food from the F+WF counts as one of your snacks (we got free DP with our package).
When we went in 2010 we saved up our snacks and ate at as many of the stalls as possible, a great cheap way to sample loads of yummy food!

I didn't even think about the resorts being booked up. Just tried to book YC or BWI, neither had any rooms. Only BC did & I don't want to stay there again. So I decided we are staying at AoA.

I can use all my snack credits in one day? I never thought I could do that!

Thank you everyone for your input. I appreciate the replies.

check out the kiosk offerings ahead of time ( before you leave ) so you know which foods you definitely want to try. You will likely get full alot sooner than you expect. DH and i counter that by sharing each thing instead of getting 2. It can be pretty overwhelming all the kiosks and people. With a list, you can focus on which foods/ countries you really want to try. Also, you can look up what some of the foods are that you might not be familiar with.
For a little fun factor, i printed out a list and DH and i rated how much we liked each offerring. 4 stars for really good to 1 star not liking it at all.
Also, if you can afford it, Party For the Senses ( hard ticket event ) is fun and delicious!

Skip it on Friday night or Saturday, unless you are going to the 3D Dessert/Party for the Senses or you are OK dealing with large crowds. As it appears you are not staying over on a Saturday, you won't be able to consider the Party for the Senses.

You are going to love the F&W!

As pp, get the wrist band. Saves from constantly getting out your money, credit card oR KTTW card. (Also avoids you accidendly dropping anything out of your pockets/pocketbook).

If you can, STAY AWAY on Friday/Saturday evenings. It is packed. Long lines at the kiosks. If you want to go on those days, go when WS opens. By 5 you start seeing the crowds really building. Weekdays are fine but we take advantage on any day by going in the afternoon to eat/drink our favorites/must trys around the world and then just take in everything at night.

Check out the Festival Center. They have a huge wine selection for purchase from every where. Also, there are demonstrations going on for a nominal charge and you get to try them. Nice little festival gift shop.

Take advantage of the free concerts at the American Gardens Theatre.

Look over the booklet and see what you would to like to try. That helps. Don't pass up the lobster pie at Ireland! Prices rage from, $3.50 to around $7.50 (lobster roll).

I would make your room reservations ASAP. The resorts you are talking about book up fast because of proximity to Epcot.

One last thing, have a great time! You will be back! Our favorite time of year to go.
