Hi - just curious about a couple of things. Heading down in less than 2 weeks for our 2nd F&W trip. Last year there was a thing at the F&W fesitval where AP Holders could check in and get a special wine glass for attending 3x or more. Do we know if that's an annual thing or was it just last year? Curious if we can start a collection?

Also, on the Sunday that we're there we're planning to walk over to the ESPN Zone on the Boardwalk to watch the Redskins football game at 1:00. We've only ever been there 1x for a quick lunch when we were staying at BWV and we just walked in. Do we need to make a reservation be able to do this or do I need to be asking this on the restaurant board? Just curious if anybody here knows how busy they may be during football season...

TIA

Can't answer about the wine glass.

ESPN is first come first served. Show up early because this is where everybody likes to go and watch the game. But you can reserve Recliners for $50 minimum spend each.

:rotfl: I was thinking more about a bar stool than a $50 recliner. Thx

Recliners are the only thing you can reserve.

I thought they they had implemented a $40 minimum spend per person for game day. But I couldn't find anything on it.

Check the annual passholder site for info about the glass. This year they are giving a tumbler instead of a wine glass after 3 visits.

Thanks. I was hoping to start a wine glass collection. So I guess the answer is they do something different every year I guess. Do I have to already have an active AP in order to check the site? (We're upgrading parksaver.com hoppers when we get there.)

Yep, there's an AP giveaway glass again this year. You'll get your Magic Band scanned each day and on the third, you can pick up the glass.

I've gone over to ESPN for Redskins games, the problem with 1 p.m. games is there are so freaking many and each will bring in fans. I would say to get there between 11:30 and noon to get in line. It's crazy on football Sundays.

YIKES! Really?! That early?! Uggg. We're doing Epcot in the morning but I wanted to hit a couple of F&W booths before we leave. Guess we'll have to be over in WS promptly at 11:00 then bug right out before noon. Thanks!

A couple of years ago we did the ESPN VIP reservation. Not sure if it still exists. I think it was 60 something each and you spend that from the menu. If you don't use up the entire amount, order a desert and bring it back to your room. We loved this.

ESPN just started taking reservations for lunch. But not for dinner.

I just called Disney Dining about this bcuz there were no openings on MDE and the CM told me they don't take reservations - said it is walk-up only....

Just read this today in Disney Files magazine for Fall, 2nd place I read about it, that they now do lunch reservations from 11am to 4. But sorry, I didn't realize it's for weekdays only. I'm sorry for the mis-information.

Oh how funny - our Disney Files came today but I hadn't opened it yet. But so I wonder why the Disney Dining CM just said "No it's walk-up only" to me when I called? She should have explained this new weekday lunch change. Strange. Anyway, it won't help us - we'll have to try to get there as early as we can.

should not be much of a crowd for a Skins game!!!! Unless your talking 9/25 the Giants will draw a crowd.

I was actually talking about this past Sundays game against Dallas. We tried to get there by Noon but got sidetracked by Green Lip Mussels from New Zealand and shrimp tacos in MX. Even tho we split up the lines were long (and I had to wait on a new batch of Mussels) so we ended up not getting to ESPN until 12:20. By that time the line was well out onto the boardwalk. We considered staying but it was HOT and there was no shade & who knew how long the line would take for someone to leave so someone else could enter so we left & went back to the room. DH caught a channel with highlights in the room while I went to the pool. Plan B worked out fine and we'll know better for the next time.

They make it sound so easy, as well as something FREE at Disney? Maybe I'm just a doubter, but is there a "catch"? Is there a long line to pick up your glass? Where is it? I'm thinking the festival center (same place where the culinary demos are). Are the glasses standard size?

No catch. The lines could get long at times last year (but you had to line up each day to get your passport stamped and then to get the glass). This year you only have to go to Innovations East to pick up your glass. And I haven't seen any reports yet of long lines this year. It's a standard size glass!

No catch. No fuss. No muss. Just picked ours up this evening. No line. Easy peasy. Standard size. All we had to do was show IDs on our 3rd day.
