I had the same experience when I tried to book the Fantasmic dinner package for our trip in July. I tried a few times and then just ended up calling the dining reservation number and booking it that way.

I had the same problem this morning. On-line system is only allowing booking thru June. Will have to call when they open their phone lines at 7:00 this morning.

I am sorry... what is F!?

It's the dinner package for the Fantasmic Show in Hollywood Studios. By eating either lunch or dinner at Hollywood & Vine, Mama Melrose's or Hollywood Brown Derby at certain times you will get "preferred" seating and won't have to stand in line as long for the show. There will be a special line you get in about 1/2 hour before the show starts. HTH

I had the same problem and finally just ended up calling. I got it for the date that would work in our schedule. I did mention to them that this was the one reservation that I couldn't make online.

You can do it online, I booked mine this morning for August. Instead of clicking on the calendar to select the date just type the date you want in the box-month first eg 07 for July, then the date and year.

okay thanks...for the advice....and help...I just confirmed it myself by typing in the date just like you said...I like booking all online so that I can see my reservations...:THANKS AGAIN...

I'm sure this is good advice, but it didn't work for me.
I did the same. I used the drop down box for the special dinners - or whatever they're called - and nothing came up past June. So I changed the date on the calendar to what I wanted in Aug and was able to make the ADR. Only after confirmation did I notice that I had booked for FEBRUARY 9, instead of August 9- the calendar reverted back to the first available date! AND - I had to pay a $10 cancellation fee. (you must cancel within 48 hours or face the $10 fee.) Called WDW-DINE to straighten it out to no avail. It is what it is....
Just want those of you who do this to be careful and avoid my mistake.
And it was MY mistake. In my haste to get all my ADR's in a row, I didn't pay close enough attention to the F! ADR. In all fairness tho, ALL my other ADR's "defaulted" to my desired date. It was just when I tried to over-ride the date on the F! calendar that I ran into trouble. Was finally able to make the F! ADR via telephone. Will never be able to negate the cancellation charge. But, hey - I'm going to WDW in LESS than 180 days now! Yeah!!!

This is due to the fact that Disney has not released any Fantasmic packages past June yet. They try to get them out 180 days in advance, but that is not always the case. If you are unable to book online (the dates are grey on the calendar), you cannot book any other way. Neither forcing in a date nor calling will get you an ADR. There is no open schedule yet. I learned this from a cast member recently when inquiring as to why the Dessert party is only posted through June. She informed me that all special events open up the same time online as they do by phone. That being said, I always suggest calling if your needed time is booked out online (meaning it is blue and you can select it but the system says there are no available times). The phone agents sometimes have access to dates that are closed off online (like Le Cellier dinner post 03-01-11 and others).

Actually - 180 days out now is in August.
I was able to book F! pkg for Aug 9 yesterday.
I did have to call tho - could not do it online.

Thank you. Good to know. I will need to call Disney Dining back tomorrow and see if I can get a more knowledgeable agent. That is so disappointing that I did not get whoever you got! Hopefully, I can get my date too.

You really can do it online for August now

Ive just checked and there are still reservations available for the fantasmic package for the day I booked it for-August 11th. Make sure when you put the date in you put the month first and put a zero so mine was 08/11/2011

I was able to book F! @ Mama Melrose for August @ 5:00 yesterday online.

This worked for me too, finally! Put in my date for July (using 07) and got my time. Woo hoo - thanks DIS board!

Worked fine for me when I typed in the date. Just don't click on the grey colored calendar. Another thing if you change the search options after getting your times available it will revert the date to tomorrow's date so don't forget to re-enter the date like this 10/02/2011.

We are crossing on multiple boards now, so this may be a bit repetitive. I am glad your date is right. When forcing a date in, I just advise whoever is doing it to make sure he/she double checks the date when confirming the reservation.
