F! on Sat Night? & FastPass Tickets?

We are arriving at SNA around 10 am Saturday July 21 (after a 6 am departure flight). Would trying to purchase F! dessert packages for that night be a poor idea? I realize Sat is probably not the best day to attend DL but pretty sure the allure of DL will be strong that day. However we could try for another day if it seems we should rearrange the days of our activities. Am I correct that if we were hoping to get these tickets I would need to start calling at 8 am California time on June 21?

We are travelling with a 9 and 2 year old and staying at the Raddison Buena Park.

The remainder of our plans so far look like:

Sun- Knotts
Mon- SW
Tues- Magic Morning DL. Medievil times dinner.
Wed- DCA, possibly WOC (possibly dinner package? Do we call for this 30 days ahead also)?
Thur- Legoland
Fri- 6 Flags MM
Sat- ocean drive, DTD- fly out of SNA 3 pm

Considering purchasing Fast Passes for Knotts & 6 Flags MM. Are these the only parks that offer this option? Does anyone have an opinion as to whether the "price is worth the prize"? This is our first trip and likely to be our last for several years.

Any other general must know tips for newbies?

Thank you in advance to your suggestions/comments!!!!

My DH and I are doing something similar when we go next month. We are arriving on a Wednesday early (about the same time, same airport) and doing the Fantasmic! dessert on arrival night (first show.) This will be our second time seeing it, and we both felt it was worth it. No camping out, sitting in a chair, yummy desserts and drinks (soda, hot chocolate, coffee) flowing.

Yes, you are correct, you can make reservations 30 days out, so make your phone call early this Thursday.

I am pretty sure you can make your WOC reservations now if you are doing a dinner. My DH and I like the picnic lunches, so I just booked those.

I would be a bit nervous buying F! tickets for day of arrival if flying. If driving then I would be OK. But flying? It is hard for me to say yes to that. With you arriving at 10AM at SNA, that helps. You can have long delays in flights and still make it for evening F!. If it was me I would not do it.

HTH :wizard:

I would be nervous about taking children to Magic Moutain. I love the rides but the type of crowd they draw scares me. I refuse to go there now. Not fun when you feel like you have to look over your shoulder the whole time.

I'd say go for it...even if there are delays you will have plenty of time to get there, get checked in and have fun at the parks before you have to check in for the dessert seating...at that time of year I dont think its going to matter if its a sat. or a tues....its going to be busy period...and yes you would need to call at 8am...I would suggest that you go for the 9pm showing...after its over you can still sit there and watch fireworks...that way it wont be too bad if all of a sudden you get extremely exhausted from the long day of traveling, heat and crowds....if you do 10:30 it might make it harder on you...

well I dont know about that but I wouldnt take my young kids to MM just because the majority of the rides are crazy scary...OP have you considered doing Universal Studios rather than MM??? more stuff for everyone there...and its closer than driving all the way to Santa Clarita for sure

There is nothing for a two year old at Magic Mountain, and the stereotypes about the crowds are absolutely true. It's a fun place for a roller coaster enthusiast, and I go once in a while, but I wouldn't take my young kids ther. Nothing for them to do and a really bad atmosphere. And, again, emphasis on roller coasters. If you and your family don't like intense style roller coasters, there is literally nothing else to do. And the roller coasters there are generally very intense - its the roller coaster capital of the country.

With the money you would spend on Six Flags, which is a disaster in the summer, you could ad a third day at Disney and buy some souvenirs. You'll want that third day at Disney during the crowded summer.

Do you come to Disneyland often? Not sure how far away you are, but do you think 2 days will be enough if you have never been? I totally agree with everyone else and I think you should skip Magic Mountain and spend another day at Disneyland. I'm all for as many days at DL as possible!

Are you taking a bus to Sea World and Legoland or are you planning to drive? Just be warned if you're driving that traffic on week days is very heavy, you'll want to leave much earlier than you think you'll need to. After driving down and back to Sea World, you might really dread getting back on the road for Legoland.

Thanks for the information- looking at eliminating 6 Flags MM. Sounds like a much different experience from the 6 flags we have been to as a family.

Is it correct that if we were to purchase the City Pass a 4th day could be added at the park for an additional charge? Anyone know what that cost would be?

Maybe then we could eliminate 6FMM and decide Wednesday if we would like a 4th day at DL/DCA or utilitize the Universal Studios part of the ticket?

i think thats a good idea...ive never had the need for the city pass so i dont actually know how that works but I would recommend a 4 day PH or the US day...if you decide to just stay at DL..and have not purchased your tix yet, then why not make it a 4 day PH??
