Ok wenches here are a few pictures from my trip...some of the pirate related ones of course...I will post a link to the others later
The Bilge Rates and the Bootsteppers...they perform throughout the day singing of their adventures in the land of Disney...this magical place that has talking animals that walk around on 2 legs...giant chipmunks the size of men...the log ride that throws you over a waterfall...but worst of all the cursed dingy ride where small children are nailed to the floor and forced to sing the same song over and over again. Cute show but Captain Jack is not involved except that they do sing a song about him
This drawing was added to the queue for Pirates. We've always had portraits of various pirates, now they have our pirate. Not sure if you have this at WDW, but we have the Disney Gallery above the ride (originally it was going to be an apartment for Walt). Right now there are a lot of props from DMC (the tribal chief chair, the jar of dirt, the chest of Davy Jones). And they also have orignal artwork from all the attractions. Some are limited edition paintings, but others you can order prints either on paper or canvas. I purchased a canvas 18 x 24 of this drawing. I just need to have it framed now.
Now for my encounters with the Captain.
First off the weekend Captain (well he was the one I saw Sat and Sun). He had the mannerisms pretty good. He was playing with everyone's trinkets as if he wanted to steal them. One girl who got his autograph forgot to take her pin back and wasn't listening to the Captain when he was trying to return it, so he stuck it in her hair. He told me his was getting her starting in saving all her trinkets from all her travels, just like he does.
Now for the Monday Captain. I wasn't too impressed with his mannerisms, but he had the voice down. Wenches, I hate to have to admit, but I got chastised by the Captain. He was upset that I didn't bring the RUM. I tried to explain that this was
Disneyland and it wasn't really allowed....but if he wanted to venture over to California Adventure, I'd get him all the RUM he wanted...
He did like my sign though. I told him it was a tribute to my wenches back home that couldn't make the visit with me. (I had forgotten to bring it in to the park with me the previous days).
I had fun just hanging around watching these guys. It was also fun to watch the people around them. Many, many.....too many...people would walk by and say that he looks exactly like Johnny Depp...didn't matter which Captain it was. And the older girls and Moms were the worst in trying to get in line. Of course a few times I was one of those, but I wasn't running over other people to get there.
