I think she was going to be gone for 2 weeks, and I found that the ticker starts counting again the day after your trip starts. So I am guessing she'll be back in a few days!

DH knows eactly what we are up to- the other day I said I think Cry Baby is on and I want to see it since it has been a very long time- He said "I didnt like that movie- oh- what- dio you have to watch it and then go and discuss it on the board??!"

He usually responds with "Yeah, he's hot. I'd do him." TOTALLY joking, of course, but it always gets a funny reaction!

How many of you have met a "star" in person and/or got an autograph? What was your experience like?

here goes mine

I met Willie Nelson and his band once back in NY in the 80's, they signed autogrpahs and Willie kissed me..I about was in heaven then too. I saw Sylvester Stalone that same day, just my bf and I and we walked over and said hi to him, but he denied he was sylvester..I was not impressed with him at all(and back then i thought he was pretty hot) but his personality s*cked. I could see if there were tons of us around, but it was just me and my bf..it was kind of behind the scenes going to parking lots, if you saw the car the guy got into you would know he was lying to us.
I also met george carlin once at a college, he signed autograph..nothing fancy, but he wasn't rude either.

I met Stevie Ray Vaughn when I worked at a bank as a teller in Austin (he played a lot in many of the 6th Street bars)...many, many years ago. We had recently been told by our management to always get an ID on everyone, even regular customers...well, in walked SRV and I knew who he was, but asked for ID anyway. He made a comment, "Do you know who I am?" I just shrugged and said that even though I knew who he was, he had to prove it....that's the bank's rules. He was nice about it. Later, my supervisor came up to me to ask me why I hassled him over the ID.

School has been picking up a bit, and keeping me away!
I promise tonight I will search for some hotness, but while at work I have enjoyed catching up on the yummy pics you have plundered. Good work wenches!

Mad, I am so jealous you got to live in an island paradise for 5 months!!! That is so cool. I've never been on a cruise or to the Caribbean, but we may take the DCL in 2009 - that summer my sisters graduate 8th grade, I gradute grad school, and I turn 30!

I am also jealous of the lady who met JD in that story. What a great experience. Good to see fame and money does not corrupt everyone.

As for today's question, I have met several bands, but not hugely "mainstream" ones. I worked as the rock music director for my college radio station, and one of the perks was free concert tickets. I was a "punker chic", so I got VIP passes for Warped Tour back when more old school bands still played it. Some of the more framiliar names I've met are the Deftones, Ice Tea, (both nice) Blink 182 (kinda rude). By far the best was meeting AFI. I've been a huge fan for years, before the glam and mainstream, and met them a few times. They still make it a point to come outside and great their fans, and they speak to the fans like they are old friends. Very nice folks. Now if Davey would give me some tips on eye make-up.....
