awww what a great story! i love hearing stories about how celebrities actually seem to care and take their time with fans. because most of the time they don't want to even be bothered.....then forget the fact that if it weren't for US THEY wouldn't be where they are.

he seems like a really sweet guy, anyway. and i would absoutly DIE if i heard him say "This is the day that you almost caught Captain Jack Sparrow, Savvy" in my ear!

OMG...that news story said that POTC3 is expected to be released in MAY of 07....why am i excited? because I will be at WDW the end of May!!
Oh, maybe I will get as lucky as Carol Darlin
Tho, I can see me handing the Capt the phone to speak to my hubby...NOT!!!
I doubt my hubby would be wise enough to THANK the Capt for all he has done for my dh's ....well you know.... life.

I love the scent of a good cologne and good smelling man...I would just die right at the Capt's feet before even being able to say "hello" if Carol's description fits what i imagined when I read it

how come registration is closed at deppzone forums? I was going to make a post thanking Carol Darlin about her post, and also let her know she may be able to preserve that scent for awhile with a ziplock bag...been there done that, but I can't join and there is no posting without registration?

It sounds like a trip is now being planned for end of May for you...good deal wench.... Yes release date is set for over Memorial DAy Weekend... I plan on taking a vacation day to go and see it, I will not be able to wait till evening and fight those crowds, so I think DH and I will go that afternoon...planning already as you can see..

That is a really amazing story, they were so lucky to have an encounter with him like that. Sounds like they got quite a bit of time with him, much more than an autograph.... Thanks for sharing this with us...

He really seems like a nice gentle man, who uses the bad boy imagine to cover up his soft side I am pretty sure, a lot of the bad boys are really nice guys underneath...

OK...you seriously do not know what a LATE DATE is.... I am not that much older than you all, but maybe it was not an expression used country wide, just in some areas.

A late date and I have to put this nicely...was when a guy would take a nice girl out say friday night, say good night at the door and leave....He would then show up at some other girls apartment for fun and frolic which does NOT involve sleeping with second more fun girl.... It also could include drinking a lot, partying and other party activities, then not sleeping....

Yes I know about it..NO I was not a Late Date ever...Though I know girls who did it with guys they wanted, who were otherwise committed to other women.....

Hope that explains it.......I was asking Pickles if Captain is available to some wench tonight for a late date..now you understand it....

How many of you have met a "star" in person and/or got an autograph? What was your experience like?

here goes mine

I met Willie Nelson and his band once back in NY in the 80's, they signed autogrpahs and Willie kissed me..I about was in heaven then too. I saw Sylvester Stalone that same day, just my bf and I and we walked over and said hi to him, but he denied he was sylvester..I was not impressed with him at all(and back then i thought he was pretty hot) but his personality s*cked. I could see if there were tons of us around, but it was just me and my bf..it was kind of behind the scenes going to parking lots, if you saw the car the guy got into you would know he was lying to us.
I also met george carlin once at a college, he signed autograph..nothing fancy, but he wasn't rude either.
