Extreme INFLATED PRICING at Disney hotels

For several days, I've watched the price of a certain WDW Disney hotel... ~$500/nt (for a FL resident). Am planning a trip next spring w/ my sis & nieces (western U.S.) Got ready to purchase & called my sis. When SHE opened http://www.waltdisneyworld.com, the quoted price for the same hotel (same nights) was ~$229/nt. After many text msgs & photos, it became obvious that she could book the room at less-then HALF my FL-resident rate. She booked for 2 nights. We saved over $500. On my computer, the price today is STILL more-than-double her quote.

In 2015, I observed a pricing discrepancy depending on if I searched from my laptop vs a computer at an out-of-state hotel.

In 2017, this pricing discrepancy was HUGE! Why is WDW charging different rates to different people? Based on 2 known experiences where Disney's website charged me inflated prices, I will only book from city libraries from now on.

I have the screenshots of Disney's price inflation. I cannot believe the people in western U.S. are able to book at less than 50% of the FL res rate!

What hotel & dates? Considering Disney releases rates for the whole year, that is very strange. Disney is not like an airline. Their rates are pretty transparent. Did you try calling & see what rate they quote you?

I am willing to be that your $500 quote was for a club level room or suite. That may have been all that is available at the FL discount rate.

The rates that appear online are the same as you will be quoted if you call in and they don't care where you are calling from.

That may have been all that is available at the FL discount rate.

There's a ton of different levels for each resort. OP probably was looking at a different level room than his "sis".

Yes, clear cache. Works a treat, especially with airlines!

There are published, public rack rates for each room category
They don't make up different prices based on where you live
They do offer many different promos for each category. Most are public promos available to all
Some promos not offered to all
Military (don't know if these are viewable online)
AP (for AP only)
Personal Pin codes (not sure these are even viewable online)
FL resident rates (FL address required)

As to public rates, you have to select the correct radio button
I say no way do you and your sis select same everything and get different rates. Something was different

Yes there have been! Once we got AKL CL for less than price of Arusha savanna room without CL. I’m sure it was a mistake but we got it!
