Hi guys

I really want to do some different things that i have not done before for my next visit, (Oct/Nov 2003) so far on my list are:

Illuminiations Cruise - does anyone have the link about booking please?

Fantasnic - would love to book a meal and then go off to see the show (do you get allocated seats or something if you do that), if so how and which resturants do this?

Any other ideas would be good, we have already done:

Breakfasts (will do some more), loved them
Backlot bbq (wont repeat that in a hurry)
Clearwater screamer
Gatorland (hated it)
Southbeach sizzle
Miami/bahamas getaway
Everglades (want to do that again)
Kennedy (bored)

The plan is to stay in orlando for 2 weeks, so we will be there for halloween and then off to the Keys for a week so we are not bothered about going to a beach before then.

What is good halloween wise?

Any tips would be excellent.

Cheers and hugs

T :p

Tracy,

As you're there for Halloween I would definitely recommend doing Mickey's Not So Scarey Halloween Party (M.N.S.S.H.P). This is a ticketed event on certain evenings throughout October. Most of the rides are open. They have trick or treating and two parades, preceded by the headless horseman which shouldn't be missed!

How about some of the behind the scenes tours? I've always wanted to do the ones at the AK & MK. You have to be 16 and above, and that cuts out our DS. The other downer is that you have to use your park admission in addition to paying for the tour. However, I've read some excellent reviews from other DISers who had a great time on these tours.

I would recommend a Helicopter Ride. We went for the first time this year and everyone really enjoyed it (much to my surprise as I don't like heights), we are planning on doing a longer flight next trip.

We flew over Disney's All stars resort, Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, Downtown Disney & Epcot. Next year we want to go over Magic Kingdom.

Hi Tracy,

I'm with you on this one - I like to find different things to do each time I go.
This time I am considering a balloon trip over Walt Disney World and Discovery Cove dolphin swim.
Here are some other things we have done:-

Helicopter ride over Sea World.
Richard Petty rookie experience (NASCAR racing near Magic Kingdom)
Cirque du Soleil Disney's West side
Canoeing in Ocala
Silver Springs
Busch Gardens
Disney Water Parks - how about a surfing lesson at Typhoon Lagoon?
Disney Quest - if you've not done it before it's very good.
Adventurer's Club at Pleasure Island.
Go to a concert at House of Blues/ Hard Rock Cafe
Epcot Food and Drink Festival is on while you are there - you can eat around the World
My DH and I have a mingolf tournement each time we go (sad I know!) - you can make up your own forfeit for the loser.

Things that I have not done yet include
Going to the Rodeo
Watching some kind of sporting event - basketball, baseball, American Football
Most of the dinner shows!
Boat Ride around Winter Haven + shopping
Visit Celebration
Spa Day at one of the deluxe resorts.
Cypress gardens
Bok Tower
Citrus Tower
St Augustine

There is also a dude ranch that has just opened outside of Orlando I think it is the Westgate ranch or something.

Have fun whatever you decide and let us know what you do.

.....for all your wicked advice (as usual)

Like the idea of a helicopter ride (has anyone done the balloon filight)

I have already done some of the suggestions which i forgot about:

Discovery Cove (cant believe i never put that in, did the dolphin swim and thought it was a total waste of money to be honest, the place was lovely though)
Cirque du Soleil Disney's West side
Busch Gardens
Typhoon Lagoon
Disney Quest - love this espeically cyber space mountain
Pleasure Island

Definately want to go to M.N.S.S.H.P, does universal have anything similar.

Also want to go to mickeys minnie golf did the others on I Drive and they were cool.

Had not thought about the behnind the scene tours, thats an idea.

Cheers for all your tips again.

Hugs

Hi Tracy

Do: Universal Halloween Horror Night (fantastic!)
Day trip to Winter Park (wonderful shops, restaurants and a
relaxing boat trip)
Day trip to Sanford and Mount Dora area.
Boggy Creek airboat ride
Baloon ride

Don't Do: Any Dinner Show! (All very tacky with dreadful food)

Do book and Illuminations Cruise; ours was excellent; here is the link Illuminations Cruises

Another suggestion is go to Busch Gardens and book the Serengeti Safari. You ride into the savanah on the back of a truck and get to hand feed eland and giraffes; you can also stroke the giraffes. We did it and it was brilliant and lasted about 40 minutes.

Another suggestion in addition to the backstage tours at WDW is a VIP tour of Universal or IoA. Includes your own personal guide for 5 hours and front of line access to all the rides. I took DH for his birthday and we both LOVED it. The tours can be booked through the www.uescape.com website under tickets.
