This question may have been answered elsewhere, but I've searched with parameters I can think of and haven't found it yet. So, I apologize if it's obviously an "old hat" question, but here goes:

I called first thing this morning to try to get a 2 bedroom AKL concierge at 7 month window. None were available, but I got what they said was the last concierge one bedroom and waitlisted for a two bedroom. We are 4 adults and one four year old (DH, DD, Sisters, and me). I am wondering about trying to book a studio in addition (although it won't be concierge) for two people from our party to sleep in (we have the points). They are on our concierge reservation, but can I get an additional room without taking them off the concierge reservation, as I want the whole party to have access to the concierge lounge and my sister really wants to do the sunrise or sunset safari experience.

Is there a way to do this, as a name has to be attached to the second room?

Thanks so much for your brilliant advice. This is our first DVC experience and it's a bit different than regular hotel rooms.

You have a problem. If they are not registered into the room, they are not on the concierge level and cannot participate in the concierge level activities. Since your AKV Concierge level one bedroom villa only holds five, plus one under the age of three, you cannot add them to the reservation.

Are your "friends" in addition to the 4 adults in your concierge 1 bedroom? Or are they already included?

Edit - You updated your original post. So you are asking if they can be registered in both rooms at once? I don't think so but talk to member services to see if there's a way around it.

yes, the total party is 4 adults and one kid. I was hoping to get an extra room so that all the adults could have a proper bed. I have since talked with everyone and they decided they`re okay just sharing for a few nights. I don`t think these sisters have slept in a bed together since they were little girls, so it`s taking on a whole `slumber party`feel to it.

I think they underestimate what my 4 year old will add the mix on that pullout chair.

I believe that they can be on another room reservation as well as your room- you just can't have them listed as the primary reservation person (first) in both rooms.

Please let us know the outcome. We are hoping for a concierge level room for next end of Sept but will also have in-laws travelling with us. There is room for all of us and will add them to our reservation so we can all do the safari. However since it might be mid-stay for the safari, I hope we can retain the two full reservations for the entire stay so they don't have to pack up and move for one night (plus I'd really prefer not to have to sleep in the same studio, even if for one night).

Yes, please, let us know. I would love to have my DCuz and her DS join us at AKV next April, but I am in a CL studio. Yes, we could all sleep in the studio, but I would much rather have DCuz and her little one have their own sleeping quarters.

We have done this before although I didn't add our guests to the concierge room until we were checking in. However - since they are not the lead person on the reservation you should have no trouble booking them in another room.

FYI - I also tried for a 2BR Concierge this morning but got a 1BR instead. :lmao:

Won't the other guests have to be on the reservation from the start, or at least when booking the safari?
