Is it easy to get extra room keys? We are bringing extended family and staying in two villas at BLT. I think it would be useful to have an extra in case someone needs to run back to another room for something without taking a person's park ticket from them.

They do not issue "extra" keys. If they did extra keys, people could sell them for access to Storm Along Bay. :rotfl:

We do not have our park tickets put onto our room keys so that's an option if you think it's going to be an ongoing problem for you.

Unless things have changed, you can get at least one extra key, by asking for it...at least we did, at SSR, 3 years ago...we were a party of 5 (a mother-son combo, and a mother-son-daughter combo) in 2 studios...two of the kids were very small (5 and 2) and the rest of us were (are) adults. We each wanted access to the other's studio (we traded off childcare so each of the adults (a mom and two grown kids/siblings) could have some one-on-one time, w/out the tiny ones).

SSR was perfectly willing to give us the extra keys...we didn't put charging privileges on them and we had separate park tix (APs for 2 of us and hoppers for 3)...

Of course if you have DDP, then DDP credits are useable from any KTTW on that room..

Years ago I was on a trip with friends and we had 2 rooms. They programmed all our keys to enter either room.

That is what I was going to suggest. Have both villas keyed the same.

I was given two extra room keys for a two bedroom at Kidani this past week while my wife and I stayed in a studio. My keys did not have charging capabilities like the others, nor could I use the keys for the DDP. Our party's park tickets were not connected with the room keys though, not sure if that makes any difference.

I was able to get a key that was good only as a door key. Having them key both rooms the same sounds like they easiest thing to do. I wouldn't try to use online check in if you want to do this however.

We had four different rooms at BWV and were able to get "day pass" keys for all of them. I had two extra keys made on my room so two different friends (in different rooms) could have access. It was great when you forgot something and someone else could access your room and grab it for you.

I asked about having all the rooms keyed the same and was told we would have had to check in together. That wouldn't work since some of us did on-line check in.

Interesting side note - NONE of my keys had charging capabilities. A friend accidentally used her day pass key to my room at a booth the F&W festival. She didn't realize it until she looked at the receipt later. The charge did hit my room account (which was no problem as she reimbursed me). We finally realized the bar coding on the keys differentiated the keys.
