We are taking our first trip to FW next Feb 09.
We have a Bayside Pop Up with a small refrigerator in it.
I was thinking about bringing a 33" high refrigerator if I have the room in my TV.
Do you think this would be handly and good idea instead of using coolers and buying ice as needed?

We always bring an extra refrigerator along. It works out great. We keep it outside our door, next to our stove. Everything is handy for cooking and using items at the picnic table.

Bring the larger fridge. We always found our much smaller popup fridge to be basically useless, so small and down close to the floor. It was in a coleman westlake popup.

By all means bring the extra fridge. I like to cruise the loops and check out what everybody has in the outdoor fridge. If there's enough room, I sometimes will stock my extra Kungaloosh supplies there, too.

We keep a second fridge in out HTT and never remove it unless we use it. We keep it on a table under the awning. Keeps drinks in it for the kids so they dont need to go in and out all the time. We are also looking at getting a portable ice maker as it would be nice for our cold beverages.

Extra frig is great---but I sure wish someone made an extra freezer that was compact and AFFORDABLE. I know there are some out there, but they cost a lot of money---the whole idea is to save money buy bringing frozen food from home. It would take a long time to make up the cost of a $800 compact freezer.

What a good idea! I've always struggled with not enough room in our smallish TT fridge/freezer! And I have an extra fridge in the garage (son had it in his dorm first year at college) but I never thought about bringing it to the Fort. Like someone said...would be great to put outside for the kids. Excellent! Wait 'til I tell hubby that he's going to have to pack it! It's buried somewhere in our garage. :)

Note to self....bring extra fridge in October! :rotfl:

To the OP, I think its a great idea. We usually have a large ice chest outside and it does cost a bundle to fill it up with ice everyday!

I don't know about your camper fridge, but if I turn mine all the way up, the whole thing acts as a freezer. (I have a Dometic 12 volt). So on longer trips, I use the camper fridge as a freezer, and my sons' dorm fridge as the fridge.

One thing I was thinking about was with a daily threat of rain I would devise a way to keep the refrigerator up off of the ground a few inches.
Mike crate, small table etc...

I always put mine on the picnic table or a rubbermaid bin under an awning.

The thought of an extra refridgerator is very appealing but I was wondering if anyone had any problems with the wildlife helping themselves to a snack. I'm referring to the four legged type not the kangaroo juice drinking type. Wildlife not wild life. :)

Only once have we had something get into it. That happened to be in Door county Wisconsin at a state park. Many animals roaming around. We had both a raccoon and a skunk enjoying my DH's smoked fish he had bought to take home the next day. We have never had a problem since that one and only time.
