we may have grandma join us for a couple days, we are on a package with dining and we don't want to add her to the package, we are staying 8 nights she is staying 2. is there anyway to add her to the magic express or should we plan on taking a taxi or mears, does anyone know the out of pocket cost for either of those.

Sorry, unless her name is on the room (and therefor part of the package) she can't take ME. Nor can she get a key for EMH. I just looked at Mears for you for a price check and I don't think they even go to the WDW resorts anymore :(. You may be stuck with a taxi or a limo service which will be a lot more expensive (about $100 RT plus tip).

You can't make a reservtion to take Mears to a WDW resort. Your Grandma can go to the Mears desk and buy a voucher. Mears will probably transport her on a DME bus.

As lewisc said, book through Mears and they will most likely put grandma on a DME bus. I know that when we have stayed at BW and BC we have had folks getting off at the Swan and Dolphin, which are not included in DME. Seems they booked directly through Mears, and got put on the DME bus.

It's good to know that you can still get to a WDW resort on Mears :). I still learn things on the DIS!

Is grandma going to be staying on-property? Will she have a separate room reservation in her name? If so (even if she doesn't have a MYW/DDP package), she can still access the ME bus service & use her room key for the EMHs during her stay.

agnes!
