I booked my reservations for Chef Mickey's for 8 people back in December for our trip in May. We just found out that my husband's brother will be coming down for 3 days - one of which will be our Chef Mickey dinner. I tried to call to add one more person, but they were completely booked. Does anyone know if they would be able to squeeze one more in? I don't have another reservation, and my kids don't want to miss this.
Thanks!

when we went for Mothers Day brunch last year......we had 9 in our party and we had booked it as nine.......but they still put us in a large round table for 8 and we were squeezed in.....so it may happen :confused3

Show up a little early and they will seat you...may have to wait 15 mins or so...we did this twice on our trip in Jan with no problems

. . . Does anyone know if they would be able to squeeze one more in? . . .

1) Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
2) All depends on how busy they are and the "mix".
3) Example:
. . . all ressies have less than 6 people, they should be able to join a table
. . . 10 ressie shave parties of 8 or more at same time, then extras are doubtful
4) There are just so many large tables available at any given time.

Not a guarantee at all times. I have seen people turned away alot. It depends on how many extra people, how this will affect the table configuration, how popular and how busy it is.Most times it may be fine, but it is definitely not a given.

The best thing would be for you to keep calling, and hopefully you can get your ADR adjusted. Even the day of the meal call and check. Otherwise you may want to show up a little early for your ADR. It will most likely take them a little while to fit you in, if they can at all. Keep trying and keep your fingers crossed.

My group has the same problem. We booked for 4 but 5 are going to dinner. We're just going to show up and tell them we booked it for 5 since its going to be on presidents day friday.

Thanks for all the input. I'm still not sure what we should do. I just think it would be horrible to get turned away and have a party of 9 with no reservations at 6:00!

Well, you shouldn't ALL be turned away. At worst they should just say they can't fit another chair in at the (likely) round table that will seat a large party (which is silly, if you say you are ok being squished in, they should bring you another chair, this is what round tables are for!). I would say have the brother show up with you and if, for whatever reason, he just can't be accomodated, have him be prepared for it. He can grab a CS at the Contemporary, enjoy the view, explore the resort and catch up with you when you're done. He should be willing to be flexible with this, as he is the late comer and should realize this is a highly coveted ADR (especially for the kids) that is difficult to change.

i dont see them turning away 9 people to eat i think they will be able to fit you in :thumbsup2

My inlaws "surprised" us (oh boy..) by joining us at WDW during free dining. We showed up at every ADR as a party of 7 instead of a party of 5, and we never had a problem or anyone bat an eye at the request. It didn't seem to be a big deal at all, though I did see them turn away every single request from walk-ups for a table. :confused3
