In planning my trip I am trying to figure out which is better to do. Mornings or evenings? It seems more rides are open in the evening. My SDD(14) would love to sleep in the morning and stay up late. :goofy: As for me I get up early :sunny: and want to get going. Decisons Decisons Decisons... All help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Evening EMH are always more crowded than mornings.

It looks like you will be there for the July 4 holiday weekend, so be prepared for the evening EMH to be a zoo! And at that time of the year the mornings will be no bargain either....

We went during Spring Break this year and did 2 extra magic hours in the evening. We had alot of fun! I think in the am, it's less busy but in the pm, you get more time but it's also more crowded. I also personally prefer the early morning but with kids, it's easier to get them to stay at the park at night than it is to get them out of bed! :thumbsup2

We love the morning EMH. I do have young children though who do not stay up late enough to take advantage of the evening hours. We have always enjoyed getting to the park first thing before the crowds are too terrible.

I will never, ever, ever, ever again to evening extra magic hour! We normally skipped it all together but on our last trip in January we decided to take advantage of it. Keep in mind it was in January when an average wait time for attractions was 10-20 minutes. MK was nuts, they kept the park open till 12:00 we lasted till 11:00 and we managed to ride 2 rides (HM and PM) I couldn’t believe how many people wore there. The morning one on the other hand was great for us if we could get up early enough to take advantage of it. We would stay until the park started getting full then we would skip to another park.

Hi!
We have done both and I think the EMH are less crowded. We got to WDW as soon as it opened, headed for POCaribbean side of park, and just walked on everything without a wait. Awsome!!!
When we went in the evening hours at Epcot, it seemed like there was more of a wait for the rides.

Hope this helps.

I've read a lot of comments about the evening EMH being too crowded, but I had the opposite experience. We stayed all the way to the end, and by the last hour we had no waiting. In fact, as we were running back over for one last ride on Space Mountain, the cast member at Pooh was standing out front telling people that there was no wait at all. Just don't plan to get up early the next day.

As the parent of teenagers I can tell you that we prefer the evening hours. They have no problem staying up late and 3 extra hours is a whole lot better than 1.

I prefer the evening magic hours. In the mornings it is only one hour....to me there's not alot that can get done in one hour. We went in November to the MK and stayed at MK till midnight during the 3 evening magic hours. It was awesome!!!!

We love the EMH a.m. hours. We travel to disney at least twice a year and have been to WDW every month of the year except February and July. We decided not to even try p.m. EMH anymore. IMHO you can get at least as much done in one hour in the a.m. as in three hours in the p.m. I do admit that we are a morning family but I say go for the a.m.

I posted a thread on crowds for morning EMH this morning and it got a few various responses. I read lots of posts on EMH (morning and evening) and responses varied greatly on if it was worth it or not.

I don't think there is a way to really know what it will be like until you are there and try it on that specific day. Times of year, weather and the park attended influence EMH attendance, so gadging it is hard.

You could always make a couple of schedules with various options and then try a EMH evening and if it works go with more or try the morning one. If they are too crowded then switch to plan B (or C...)

Just my thoughts. Our past experiences have varied so I don't really know a good answer.

THANKS TO YOU ALL :thanks:

I guess the best thing to do is take my own advice and enjoy the trip but have a few different options. :flower3:

We have 3 teen ds and just got back from our easter trip, we also did the lst week of dec 2005 and thanksgiving week end. I have found not to fight the kids. It makes for a much better vacation. They too like to stay up late and refuse to get up early. They loved doing the extra magic hours in the mk on good friday. The park was open till like 3 am and I know they were there to at least 2. They told me they rode all the mountains multiple times while still staying on. The summer is just so hot. I would rather go at night too. If you want to go early you could compromise and leave, and have a wake up call for her at a certain time. Have a meeting spot and time etc. Is it just the two of you? I guess you could compromise with some early days, some late etc. We let the ds be in the parks alone too, but that is a personal decision that you have to make. Good luck and enjoy your trip. Also if you go late you might not be spending as much on drinks at night as in the hot daytime etc.

It is too bad that my SDD is an only child or letting her roam the park wouldn't be a issue and I could sit by the pool :drinking1 :goodvibes
