Extra Magic Hour for Marathon

My DW has said that she has read on the boards here that last year there was a change in the Extra Magic Hour lineup due to the running of the WDW Marathon. Is there any heads up I can find about this? Is this something that WDW will release info on? Thanks!

We were there this year for the Marathon and they did not do the EMH for the Magic Kingdom that day. However they were letting people in at that time without even asking for a park pass (thinking that we were just going in to cheer on the runners.)
