Extra Magic evening hours or not?

I'm reading conflicting advice. One site advises taking advantage of extra magic evening hours because crowds are much lower (families with young kids are in bed), and another site recommends staying away from extra magic evening hours because crowds are much higher. Which is it?

The overall park will be more crowded on EMH days. A LOT more crowded. I do believe you will find EMH in the evening to be much less crowded than during the day but will still have a fair amount of people. The families with little ones will be gone but there are lots of families who don't have little ones. I would recommend attending a non EMH park during the day then park hopping over for the evening to the one that does have EMH.

It's very simple: If you have park hoppers, go to the recommended park during the day and hop to the park with evening EMH later in the night. If you don't have hoppers, avoid the parks with EMH like the plague.

Do this......if you do have have hoppers go to MK for the late night EMH. We enjoyed being able to spend time in the MK between 12-2 am on our last trip. It was a totally different experience!

I plan my park days to miss EMH. I really can't manage to stay awake and in a park until 1 or 2 a.m. since I'm a rope drop person and like to be well rested for the next morning.

Same here, although morning EMH we almost always do, then we generally hop to the park that had EMH the day before

Oh, and use the crowd calendar at easywdw.com

I've found the crwods very manageable and in some cases, the best time to enjoy the parks at night.

Right. IT's not the EMH that is crowded, it's the general part of the day that is worse because all the EMH folks add to the general admission. Most of the touring sites write for the general off-site stayer. During the EMH is great and a big reason Park Hoppers can be very useful.

This isn't necessarily correct. There are lots of strollers still in the parks during evening EMH. For many families, it's a lot easier to let our kids stay up late than to make them get up early.

I have never used the morning EMH but find the evening ones to be great. Less crowds.
Good Luck!!!
