Extra Extra Magic Hours! Post Your Experiences Here!

For those visiting Columbus Day week (and I think there are many on this thread), I went to touring plans to see what’s been posted - and it looks like expected crowd levels have dropped. I usually get an email update - but maybe it’s just happened?

Edited to add - got the email from TP about two hours later. 👍🏻
We leave in 3 weeks and got a touringplans email today which drastically lowered their predictions for DHS and MK. Hope it turns out to be true! The predictions look like what they were when we first booked the trip in Jan and did not know that SWGE would be open. So SWGE appears to have a net zero effect on predictions (although likely because they can deflect some crowds to EEMH - my plan is to leave DHS at 9.)

For now I'm w/ everyone else- for our DHS EEMH we'll plan to get there a little after 6, hit TSL first, then RnR and TOT, then back for SR and hang out at Oga's if there's no wait & browse the shops.

For people who want to do EEMH and then head to another park, are the buses from DHS to MK running as early as 9AM?

Our trip starts on Oct. 15th. I don`t want to be negative or pessimistic but...I`ll believe it when I see it. Seems we always get mugged by Disney hordes, every time we go.

Lines at DHS today are looking a lot like yesterday’s. Looks like this is just a slow week. I expect things to pick up as we get to Columbus Day and more schools having fall breaks.

DHS 10/3

At the bus stop at Sports at 5:25. Bus came at 5:30. At HS by 5:40 and in park just before six. Went to SDD and rode twice. Boys then rode Aliens twice. Boys then rode TSM while dh and I had a coffee. Got pictures with Woody and Bo Peep. We all then rode TSM

Headed to ToT, then rode RnR. Both basically walk-on.

Got pictures with Olaf. Then went on Millennium Falcon. Thirty minute wait. Exited that at 9:20. Boys then rode Star Tours and in for first show of Muppets.

Currently drinking a beer at Baseline... killing time before our 11:00 ADR. Then we will go back to the hotel to swim.

All morning was done at a very leisurely pace.

I suppose you could always walk or take a boat to the Swan and Dolphin and get a bus from there.
This sounds like a good plan. I think Boardwalk's bus stop is probably closest.

There’s always the skyliner to CBR and then a bus from there too if you want to sneak in a ride. Not sure how close bus stops are to the skyliner station.

If you’re just walking and know how to navigate around the Boardwalk grounds and parking lot to go right to the bus stop that probably would be closer. If taking the boat you definitely want to get off at the Swan and Dolphin stop and get a bus from there.

We did EEMH on Monday at HS, as I posted earlier but we went back last night and it was almost better. We rode smugglers run twice. First time waited 15, 2nd time around 8:25 we waited 6 minutes. It was pretty crazy. TSMM was a walk on too. ToT and RnR had incredibly short waits too.

What time did you get there last night? We're thinking of going over on our arrival night.

Home now from an awesome week trip. We did the EEMH twice. The first time was at HS on Thursday 9/26. We arrived at the park at 5:35, and ended up behind what looked like a few hundred people by the theater waiting to be let in (we were actually back behind Sunset Blvd by the time we got there). Even though there were quite a few people ahead of us, MF:SR was still walk-on for us. I know people have said it’s a horrible idea to head there first if you’re not first in line, but that’s not what we experienced at all. We had to walk very slowly back there since my mom has a broken foot, so tons of people were passing us, and even with that the ride was walk-on. From the moment the park opened we never stopped walking until we were on the ride. The crowds on 9/26 weren’t bad at all, even when we moved over to TSL, the waits were great, even with Slinky being down for a portion of it.

We also went this past Tuesday 10/1, and it was very different than the previous week. The crowds were noticeably larger than the previous week, and the wait times were longer. Slinky was posted at a 30 minute wait and took just that, if not a bit longer, while on the previous Thursday is was only 8 minutes to get on at the same time of day. AS2 had about a 20 minute wait, but that kept going down that morning. After TSL we headed over to ride MF:SR, and it was posted as a 45 minute wait, but only took us about 25 minutes to get through. Even with the longer waits this week, still definitely worth it. We got so much done in such a short period of time. I wish they could keep these EEMH for our next trip!

We had a 4:45 fp for ToT, so we must have gotten there around that time. I can’t say that it will be like that every night, last night just seemed oddly low crowds. Was able to get FP all night for everything except SDD.

How many minutes walking distance to Swan and Dolphin from DHS?

Another question: is it usually slow to use the busses to hop from one park to another?

If we are staying at the beach club, and want to take skyliner from IG to Hollywood Studios will it be open? We are thinking of leaving around 530am

we planned to use ferry but skyliner sounds more fun and might be quicker?
