OK, I have 1 day and 10 hours to go til we leave, and I've forgotten one very important bit of info which I hope you guys can help me with. I had read that there are places that will sell an extra hamburger bun for like .70, so you can put the extra patty from a double cheeseburger on it and save a few bucks. I remember that this was possible at Pecos Bills, but can't remember where else. This was going to help the budget a few times, so PLEASE, if you know anywhere in any of the parks (we're fortunate enough to be seeing them all), let me know so my ulcer can calm down?? Thanks in advance!

We've done this at pesco bills and the resturantours(sp?) at Animal Kingdom. Never had a problem.

Any of the counter service places that serve burgers should do this for you. We actually do it regularly. It is a way to conserve money, but also be able to actually consume the large amounts of food they provide.

We like it because one of our kids does not like the meat but loves the buns. So we just get him a bun and he is totally happy.

We always do this too! our 2 DS can share 1 meal and I don't eat red meat ( I use the bun at the fixin bar to make a custom sandwich). We never had anyone blink an eye.

We asked to pay for an extra bun at Backlot Express at MGM and they ended up telling us we could just have it at no charge.

What a GREAT idea! My mom and I are planning on sharing a lot on this trip - less to save money more to save calories!!! But I also looked at the menus at allearsnet.com and for $2.00 more at most CS places, you can get a double cheeseburger. So my mom can get 1 double cheeseburger, get an extra bun and share the fries (or carrots :lmao: )

COOL DEAL!

We do this each time we go to Pecos Bills, but I have never tried it at other restaurants. Has anyone ever did this at Electric Umbrella? This was one of the CS places that I wondered if we could get an extra bun at? This was one of many wonderful tips I have learned from this board!! :)

I've done it at the resort food courts several times. I think I've done it at Electric Umbrella too.

We also at at Blacklot Express this past May. I stood there on line and seriously thought about ordering an extra bun but could just not do it. We ended up cutting the burger in half (what my boyfriend and I usually do) and I am sure it would have been much more enjoyable with the extra bun but I could not do it. I will be more brave this November when we head back to the world and order the extra bun.

I've done the "extra bun" a few times. Once at the America building in WS in Epcot and at Peco Bill's. I believe we may have done this at Restaurantsarus in AK. I've sometimes been charged for the extra bun, but not always.

Another cost saver is ordering cups of ice water and last trip I used the little packets of lemonade to add to the water- YUMMY and icy cold and best of all, free! I bought the Walmart brand of Crystal Lite lemonade - cost like $2 for 10 packets.

Does the Crystal Lite cover the taste of the horrible tap water? I made the mistake of drinking from one of the water fountains once and I won't make that mistake again.

eww, don't drink from the water fountains!

just ask for a glass of ice water with lemon at any of the CS or TS restaurants - that's the trick a cast member shared with us years ago and we've been using it since!
