Extinct Rides

20000 Leagues. I remember going as a kid. I tell my children that there was a ride in a sub and they want to do it. OF course at 13 they never had a clue that a ride in a sub existed at Disney.

20,000 leagues under the sea.. no reason anyone should want anything else

I absolutely loved that ride. I thought it was one of the coolest rides in Disney. I understand why they got rid of it but I sure would like it to come back one day. Maybe if they do a remake.

Does anybody remember an attraction in the mid 90's in Tommorowland that had an animated robot voiced by Robin Williams, its was a 360 degree movie that featured a robot called 9 eye?
I remember thinking it was pretty cool at the time but can't remember what it was called!

I don't remember much from when I was there when I was young, but I do remember very clearly how bad Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, and even 20,000 Leagues was. Anyone wishing for a reanimation of Mr. Toad is remembering a different ride than I am. ...I just watched a YouTube video in case I was missing something. Nope - it really was terrible. I remember waiting 90 minutes for it as well, thinking "...wow, this line up is even longer than Space Mountain - this must be a great ride!". Nope. Awful. I'd expect that at the local fair, not the most popular theme park in the world.

My vote would be the Skyway. I thought that was very relaxing and peaceful.

20,000 Leagues for me....tied with Snow White's Scary Adventures. Such fun memories. :goodvibes

I think I may have ridden Mr. Toad's.. It was one of those old "cardboard cutouts" kind of rides.. Much like how Snow White was before they closed it. Florescent paint on plywood + black lights.

Even as a kid I remember thinking it was kind of cheap/cheesy.

Winnie the Pooh is by far a better attraction. Much more imaginative inside.

Even with 20K, I at least remember feeling like I was going down deep into the ocean on some kind of adventure when I was a kid.

Another vote for Figment and the Dreamfinder here! My DS and I just skip that whole pavilion now--there's nothing there that could compare to the original. :sad2:

And another. There's no minority around here regarding the shameless way they gutted that ride. (sorry, was that too strong?;) )

I'll cheat and vote twice. I'd love to ride 20KLUtS again too.

I remember loving it as a kid. Then I went to Disneyland 4 years ago. Still loved it. Rode it 4 times.

When I was young, Epcot was my favorite. And in all of Epcot, "the Figment Ride" was #1. I loved my stuffed Figment.

I heard the ride was changed (WHY?) but not until just now did I watch the video of the new one (haven't ridden it yet).

WOW. Utter Fail.

I have zero desire to go on that ride. What kind of bad drugs were behind the greenlight for that one?

Can't stick with just one:

MK - 20,000 Leagues ... when I was a kid the one at Disneyland was my favorite of all, maybe rivaled by Pirates.

Studios - Meet the Muppets ... wasn't open long but it sure was hella fun

Epcot - Horizons ... two reasons. A. I loved that attraction B. I don't give a flying flip about Mission Space.

Mk Probably Mr toad

Epcot the entire Wonders of Life pavilion with a close 2nd and third being Tapestry of Nations, and the original Illuminations with that great music and the Countries lighting up with the music, and the lasers, just so much grander then watching the ball in the middle of the lake.

DS When it was first opened they had a show, I think it was called Superstar TV that I found so fun and entertaining. (close 2nd The Hunchback Show)

Adventurer's Club! It was the most unique experience that I encountered from any of my WDW trips. A wonderful combination of improv comedy and hilarious skits. I was lucky enough to be pulled up on stage for one of their "radio shows" one year. I got to play a Swedish nurse, "Inga." After I was pulled onto stage, I had a moment of terrible stage fright - but then thought, "What the heck!" and threw myself into the part, terrible Swedish accent and all. It was a blast!

I was so disappointed when they closed down Pleasure Island several years ago; I miss the Adventurer's Club.

Kungaloosh!

Overall, Horizons as it is one of my all time favorite rides but if I could bring back all of old Future World (original Journey Into Imagination, Body Wars, World of Motion, Seabase Alpha, etc.) I would. Other than Soarin', there is not one ride in present Future World that I enjoy more than the ride it replaced.

In MK, Mr. Toad loved it as a child and loved it when I finally rode it again in Disneyland last year.

In AK, original Dinosaur ride. I do like the new version as well but it was better before so I picked this one by default.

In DHS, the original Backlot Tour with all of the tv houses. I have never been a fan of DHS but this attraction was soooo much better before than it is now.

Add me to the minority;) I hope someone got fired for this catastrophe:( My 4 year old loves Figment and it makes me so sad that she has no idea what she's missing:confused3 And a vote for Kitchen Rocks. Still have my stuffed broccoli in sunglasses:rotfl2:
