Extinct Rides/Attractions You've Done?

Not sure if hey ever had it at WDW but at DL before they put in Star Tours, there used to be another ride in that spot where it looked like it shrunk you and you traveled through a shrinking machine in pods sililar to the doom buggies at HM. What was it called? I want to say Adventure to Innerspace or something?? I loved that ride when I was little!
Only at DL. I think it was Journey to Innerspace; sponsored by Monsanto.

I am pretty sure they had that WDW too- although I think it was called mission to the moon? or maybe journey to the moon? I loved that ride- and really thought we shrunk(hey I was like 5 at the time.) That was a great line as you stood there waiting to be watching what you thought was shrinking. aaaaah memories.......

Here's one, taken from another (1/88):

yes, and then I think you went through something having to do with the inner ear- They shrunk you and then sent you into the ear so you could see how sound travels?

I think Mission to the moon was a different ride, but it sounds like you are thinking of the innserspace one. As you stood in line you would see the cars go onto the machine and then there was a clear tube in the center where they got all tiny! Obviously the ride turned but the illusion was great as a kid!!

And speaking of Spaceship Earth, which I love, did they used to have a different kind of buggy to ride in? When I was there in May I was so disappointed to see the car I would be riding in. I'm sure when I was last there, in 1995, the buggy was sort of rounded and came over your head. It was like a little coccon and you couldn't really see anyone else. Did I imagine this?

are you sure that wasn't horizons? the cars there were kind of like that . the mile long bar? most of the other things have been mentioned that i can think of

I remember going on DreamFlight, when the TTA was called the People mover, the orginal Tiki Room & Journey into Imagination, World of Motion, Legend of the Lion King, TimeKeeper, orginal Universe of Energy, Horizons, Captain Eo, Food Rocks, The Huchback of Notre Dame show, & probably plenty more that I can't think of now. :p

Didn't there used to be a bar with mirrors on each end so it looked really long, somewhere near Country Bear Jamboree I think? :confused3

Losing Discovery Island absolutely broke my heart. We never went there as kids, but my wife and I, on our first trip to Disney together, went there for our first (and sadly last) time. It was such a nice break from the madness of the parks, and somewhere at home (I'll post them if I can find them) we still have pictures where we were covered by the colorful birds in the aviary checking us out for buttons, snacks, and whatnot. On our followup trip, when we found out it was shut down, we were crushed. We enjoy Animal Kingdom, but it really wasn't the same.

I miss 20,000 Leagues and Mr Toad. The can completely get rid of Ariel's Grotto (stupid, stupid waste of space) and use that space to bring them back. I don't remember Alien Encounter, so I would like that back, I know I went on it, but can't remember it.

Ohhhh, this is a really good topic!!!!
Things that I miss:
Mr Toad
Alien Encounter....scared the crap out of me the 1st time!!!
20000 leagues
Main St Cinema
Original Tiki Room
Ninja Turtles
Captain EO
Discovery Island....was a nice quiet break
Skyway
Breakfast on the Empress Lily

We've still got our memories!!!! :rolleyes1

I miss the Kids of the Kingdom show in front of the castle. And the Main Street Electrical Parade.
Skyway
20,000 Leagues
Captain EO (and the movie before that!)
The original Imagination ride with Figment and Dreamkeeper
The original Tiki room
I still call the TTA the People Mover!
It's horrible to have to explain to your mother that Mr. Toad is now Winnie the Pooh. She was not pleased. :guilty:

So does anyone think that if they had kept Captain EO around that they would have gotten rid of it after MJ's legal problems?

I loved Delta Dream Flight. Also went on World Of Motion, Horizions, original Imagination when it was good and had Figment, Imagination when it got rid of Figment, orginal Universe of Energy, I think original Tiki room (though I can't remember if it was WDW or DL), People mover, I can't remember if I went on Toad's.

The kids and I were watching some old Disney Videos I bought back in the early 90's and it was neat to see that show again.

How about the Mike Fink Keelboats in Frontierland, where the CMs wore coonskin caps, frontier style dress, and it shuttled you around Tom Sawyer Island? That's been closed forever. Wonder if they'll ever reopen?
