alien encounter is gone?! why? :guilty:

Because they redesigned the attraction, now it is Stitch's Great Escape... I wish they'd bring back AE...

And speaking of Spaceship Earth, which I love, did they used to have a different kind of buggy to ride in? When I was there in May I was so disappointed to see the car I would be riding in. I'm sure when I was last there, in 1995, the buggy was sort of rounded and came over your head. It was like a little coccon and you couldn't really see anyone else. Did I imagine this?

Sounds like you are thinking about the doom buggies at haunted mansion. I don't believe the ride vehicles have changed since it first opened. Or perhaps you remember the Horizon vehicles, they were partially enclosed.

Did anyone happen to mention the Flight to the Moon, Plaza Swan Boats, The Walt Disney Story, Magic Journeys, Mike Fink Keelboats, StarJets, Magic Carpet 'Round the World, Symbiosis, Communicore, WorldPort, Earth Station, Dick Tracey show, Here Come the Muppets, the Jungle Book Show, or Discovery River Cruise?

Or, eating at Coke Corner, Adventureland Veranda, The Mile Long Bar, Lancer's Inn, The Round Table, Trubador Tavern, Space Bar, The Tomorrowland Food Court, Tomorrowland Terrace, Stargate Restaurant, The Land Grille Room, The Good Turn Restaurant, Sunrise Terrace, The Farmer's Market, The Catwalk Bar, The Soundstage Restaurant, or Ariel's?

BonnieA, you are definitely remembering the Horizon's ride vehicles. They covered your head, and you rode sideways.

:goodvibes :goodvibes Wow, what a nice thread. Memories.....

Character Breakfast on the Empress Lily at the WDW Village.
The WDW Village... now DTD
Horizons
Captain EO,
Original Journey into the Imagination with Figment and Dreamfinder where you could choose your ending.
Food Rocks
Seabase Alpha in the Living Seas
The little show they had in the upstairs theater in Innovations.
Tapestry of Dreams parade (oh do I miss that parade)
I actually like Ellen's energy ride better than the original.
20,000 leagues under the sea
Mickey's birthday town
the electric light parade!!! (I still love this parade, although I LOVE Spectromagic too)
Diamond Horseshoe Revue with dancers and the sandwiches available for lunch. :)
Body Wars
the Golden Girls home on Residential Street during the backlot tour. But I really like LMA and the Osborne lights there instead....
Roger Rabbit and Jessica Rabbit
The Animators... really miss them working at MGM

I'm sure there's something else. :goodvibes :goodvibes

This is why I told my friend not to worry... Each time I go it is like the first time. There is always something I haven't done, something new to see... they keep it fresh. A dozen trips and I could go tomorrow and see something new.....

I love WDW!!!! :lovestruc :wizard: :goodvibes :goodvibes

Not sure if hey ever had it at WDW but at DL before they put in Star Tours, there used to be another ride in that spot where it looked like it shrunk you and you traveled through a shrinking machine in pods sililar to the doom buggies at HM. What was it called? I want to say Adventure to Innerspace or something?? I loved that ride when I was little!

I'm sure I can't remember them all, but here goes:

Mission to Mars
World of Motion
Horizons
Superstar Theatre
Monster Sound Show
Kikkoman burger at the Adventureland Verand (yummy)
COP with the old song
America the Beautiful
River Country
Discovery Island
The saloon show at MK (I can't remember the name...sorry)
The old Poly luau
20,000 Leauges
Skyway to Tomorrowland
Alien Encounter (Stitch is HORRIFIC by the way)
Imagination (new one sucks!!)
The old Universe of Energy show (new one is an improvement for sure!)
Swan Boats

That's all I can think of right now. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

:goodvibes The boat ride to Discover island. HISTA is honey I shrunk the audience. :cool1:
Thank You! I just couldn't think of that, now I see why, I don't like that attraction so I must have blocked it out.

the electric light parade!!!

I agree! I miss the Main Street Electrical Light Parade soooo much. It used to be a family tradition for my extended family in Disneyland to sit on the same piece of curb and wait for Pete's Dragon to blow smoke on my Grandpa's bald head :rotfl2:

Everyone of these from every post. And I rode the Flying Saucers at Disneyland in 1963 or 64.

Mostly miss the great show: Kids of the Kingdom type, Mickey's Birthdayland show, Diamond Horseshoe review. :wizard:

20,000 Leagues
***Mr. Toad's Wild RIde****
Mission to Mars
Horizions
Delta Dreamflight
Alien Encounter
World of Motion
Original Tiki Room
Original Figment
Mickey's Star Land
Food Rocks
Kitchen Caberat
Captian Eo
**Disney Institute***
Questions it's been since 2002 since we've been at Diney. I saw People Mover on someone's list. Tell me it's not gone. Body Wars and Golden Girls house, are they gone too? Skywayto TL and FL keeps ringing a bell. What was this? I'm trying to remember if it is something I've done.

People mover isn't gone, they just changed the name to Tomorrowland Transit Authority.

Here's my list:

20,000 Leagues under the sea
Mr. Toad's wild ride
Skyway
caveman at Ice Station cool .... what happend to him anyway?
Dreamflight or If you had wings...I was a kid, I just remember the shadows of airplanes going all over the walls....I really liked that ride
World of Motion
Horizons
original Tiki Birds, my mother loved this and we made all kinds of fun of her about it
Food Rocks
Doug Live
Discovery Island
Circle Vision
original Universe of Energy (Ellen's is MUCH better)
original Journey into Imagination (original was MUCH better)
Main Street Electrical Parade.. although I like Spectro, nothing will ever beat MSEP
Diamond Horseshoe
everything in Wonders of Life, I guess since it is closed "until further notice"

Now the ones I miss the most: Horizons, World of Motion, the Skyway (I've always like seeing the big picture! :goodvibes ) and the Main St Electrical Parade

The People mover was at DL in CA. They still have the Tomorrowland Transit Authority at Mk in FL.

The skyway were the hanging baskets that went from Fantasyland to Tomorrowland. They are gone now.

I think they are still showing on the websites that Body wars is open seasonally but I have not seen it open since our trip in 2000. The last 4 times we have been the whole building has been closed.

I thought the original name was the Wedway People Mover :confused3

Sorry if I am mistaken, but I've never been to DL and I rode that ride somewhere!!! Of course, I have reached that age ! :rotfl:

You are correct, I believe the original name of the TTA was still the Wedway People Mover. You probably did ride it when it was called that.
At Dl they complety took out the People Mover and replaced with these Rocket Rod things that never worked properly and were only open for about a week it seemed like. Complete waste a wonderful ride!

It is funny these were posted........two of my kids are watching old Videos we bought of WDW from the early 90's and they keep asking about old rides that are no longer there. LOL

I also miss the original Illuminations at EPCOT. The use of the lasers were really cool and the music was great also. Speaking of EPCOT how about when it was EPCOT (Experimental Community of Tomorrow) not Epcot. I know it is petty but not the original "name". :earsboy:

I knew Illuminations was different. WE hadn't been in 7 years and two weeks ago saw it and I wondered about it. I liked the old way better. They used to put the outline of the continents on spaceship earth in lazers and it looked like it was turning. Loved it!!! but i guess with that huge hand on it, you wouldn't see it.

Also not a ride but the large fountain in behind spaceship earth didn't always have that stage thing and huge wall around it??? I'm trying to find a picture from our honeymoon or even 93 with us standing right up next to it. Plus at the end of the night the water danced to music and changed colors. That didn't happen when we were there at the end of OCt. I missed that.
