Have you ever been sad to see a classic attraction close or undergo refurbishment? You wait patiently for it's replacement and refurbishment to come, but worry it will not be the same as the original you grew to love and cherish over the years. BUT... the day comes when you experienced the new and improved and absolutely loved it? I'm curious to hear the community's feedback on these instances. Thank you all in advance for your feedback.

I miss If You Had Wings, greatly, as it was the first 'adult ride' I was allowed to go on as a child. 20+ years later when I went on its replacement, Buzz Lightyear, yes I missed Wings but enjoyed Buzz.

Though I haven't been back since Test Track was redone I already know I don't like the newer version just from the YouTube's I've watched. I'm sure I will LIKE it, but I LOVED the old TT.

I find the use of the former Submarine attraction's space at MK to be a positive "trade-up" to the New Fantasyland.

Back in the mid 70s ..If You Had Wings was a welcome Oasis, especially when you were trying to hold ont to this E tickets for as long as possible..the speed room was great ...I miss The Magic Shop on Main Street, also the white waxish paper bags that they used in all the shops...Mr Toad was great but I still can see it in DL

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride/The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. I was skeptical, but Pooh is just too derned charming.

I was sad the Food Rocks was taken away (though it was corny), but was very happy after I experienced Soarin'!

I really miss the original Figment, the refurb did not do it justice...

Mr toad's wild ride is the other one I wish was fixed up instead of replaced..

To add to this:

I really like the test track changes but wish they would just treat it like the cars version in other parks and stop hitting the brakes.. A wild car ride and drop the safety tests I think would be more enjoyable.

I miss 20KLUtS. ALOT!
The original Journey Into Imagination was a masterpiece and they absolutely gutted it.
Mission:Space is great, but I was a huge Horizons fan.

Hmmm. I don't seem to hold a lot of love for refurbs and replacements.
I can say I'm a huge Haunted Mansion fan and I do really enjoy the changes they have made there.

Despite my avatar, I agree with the premise, though I think the time lag between the closure of 20K and the opening of New Fantasyland makes it difficult to draw a straight line between the two. Overall, New Fantasyland was a trade up over the lagoon. But I do miss Toontown. Well...maybe not personally. But the concept and execution of Toontown and the character meet and greets that it provided were brilliantly executed.

Many other examples have already been cited. Such as Food Rocks--->Soarin'. And Snow White---->Mine Train. So here are a couple more.

I thought I would miss the Wonders of Life Pavilion, but I love what they put in its place.
I thought I would miss the Odyssey Restaurant , but I love what they put in its place.
I thought I would miss the second floor of the Imagination Pavilion, but I love what they put in its place.
I thought I would miss the Tomorrowland Noodle Station, but I love what they put in its place.
I thought I would miss the Swan Boats, but I love what they put in its place.

Removing tongue from cheek now.
