Extending Star Wars fireworks?

As of right now the Star Wars fireworks and dessert party (and the Villains soiree) are only scheduled through the end of March. We are scheduled visit in April and I was wondering if anyone had any idea if they might possibly be extended. My kids would love it.

No idea. It's possible, but there have been no announcements or even semi-official rumors (nothing heard from CMs).

Well, I think they've already extended the fireworks from weekends only to daily during Season of the Force, so anything is possible. If the crowd reception is good, I can see them extending the "Season" unless there's a construction schedule to keep.

Well it's not like it's not popular and they are going to need a draw for the park so I definitely see an expansion happening.

May not be able to. The fireworks at the studios are currently launched from the roof of the One Mans Dream building, TSMWM building, GMR building, and on trailers parked in the LMA/backlot area. With construction just around the corner they may not be able to use these areas and may have to cancel the show until they can do a work around or the areas are clear.

You may have missed it but DHS is constructing a new permanent fireworks launch site. I have the permit posted in the DHS thread. Work has commenced on that project already.

Yes I have seen the permit and posting. However that site isn't complete as of yet and the fireworks are still being launched from the areas i listed above. I guess I was trying to say that maybe the SW fireworks will be until the dates listed being shot form the original launch locations.

After March we may be able to see a new show utilizing the new launch site.

That's very possible. The new launch site is pretty simple, once the land is cleared it's just a couple concrete pads, some gravel access roads and a couple pre-fabricated structures.

Pretty much. Then it's just to design a show, test it and market!

We're going mid May, originally planning for the first Star Wars Weekend. It would be nice if they had the fireworks.

I'd be willing to bet most won't care where they are launched from, just that they are. I forsee them switching to the new site and it being a seamless transition.
