Extending Restaurant Hours

I couldn't find this answer on the boards, but I am sure it has been asked so sorry if this is a repeat.

Disney just extended park hours for part of our trip (I'm sure next week will see the next week extension). Anyway, I was hoping to snag a later dinner time at an Epcot restaurant only to find their hours are still only until 7pm. I know Disney isn't going to leave them at 7pm ... no way. Too much money to be made. And Disney loves money.

So, my question is, when do they extend dining hours at the restaurants? I thought it would be same day when park hours went longer, but obviously I was wrong.

Anyone know?

From my understanding it takes a couple days for the new hours to load into the reservation system. Keep checking regularly. In addition to checking often, I personally would also set up a reservation finder request on touring plans to receive an alert when they hit.

Already have that in! (that has helped snag a few good ones!)

Two quick questions for those with more experience:

1) Is there a certain time of day (or night) they open new reservations (i.e.- midnight)
2) Do they tend to open things in blocks or by day In other words they just extended hours the last week of March. In the past, when they have done this have the new reservations for the week opened all at one time or day by day?

I’m right with you. Scared it will all happen while I’m sleeping and I’ll miss out!

If my dining alerts are accurate, they seem to add new availability between 10:30pm and 4:00am.
