Hi guys! :)
Staying at this place for 3 weeks in less than a month, and was wondering if anybody else could share their experience of a stay here.
Got the free breakfast for 3 weeks, so would love a review of whats on offer, and whether it's enough for a start to the day, or just to grab and eat as a snack later?
Also, any hints and tips about the local area, the hotel itself, local restaurants and travelling to the parks would all be appreciated! :thumbsup2
Thanks in advance! x

I was wondering the same. I will be staying there for 4 days in April. You are talking about the Extended Stay Deluxe on Palm Parkway, correct?

Yeah, that's the one! :goodvibes
Hopefully some kind-hearted souls can help us out!

I actually can help you with the area. The area is a great area. Will you have a car? If not, they do offer a free shuttle to Disney, I read that on their site. You can also walk to some places to eat. There are lots of places there to eat. They have Uno Pizza, Olive Garden, TGI Friday's.. Hooters and some others. Then they have McDonalds, Burger King & Taco Bell.. It is a bit of a hike but on a really nice day, you might be able to hike it to the shops at Down Town Disney. That is if you are a real walker since it is a hike. I hope this has helped you some... and I hope we can get some reviews on this hotel soon! :thumbsup2 I might try looking on tripadvisor.com to see what they have there....

here is the link for tripadvisor.com

We are staying there to may 11 - 18, can you all let me know how your stay is . I am a little nervous got it on hotwire for 29.00 a night hope it is not a 29.00 a night room. The reviews did look fair to good on trip advisor.

From their website it looks fairly decent..

here is the link I have, not sure if this is what you have...

I will be there April 16-20th... what are your dates? If I get back before you go, I can always let you know what it was like!!!!

We're gonna be there April 26th-May 17th (Less than a month to go now, YAY! )

Would be great to hear how it was for you. I'm sure you'll be on here for some post-mouse therapy!

Most reviews on trip-advisor are pretty moderate with some negative, but I'm a great believer that people are more likely to go on these sites to have a moan about something going wrong, than to just say they had a good time.

I made my final decision after seeing that it is ranked 25 out of the top 30 hotels (based on many factors) in this years Unofficial guide, and it's proximity to the house of mouse. Lots of restaturants nearby on Google maps like you say, so I reckon it's gonna be rockin! :thumbsup2

I stayed there last May for over a week and I am going back again this May and I will be staying there again. The hotel was nice...it was not a fancy hotel, but it was clean, rooms were good size, everything worked great, etc. The breakfast they have is stuff like cereal, pastries, and some fruit. They have coffee and juice as well, also bagels (and cream cheese/ butter) and I believe I saw toast and jelly. The pool was a decent size, not huge, but not small. I went around the time in May that a few have posted here, and I must say there were not many people in the hotel to crowd the pool, at least when we were there. The only thing I have to say about the pool was it was pretty cold the first few days....I'm not sure if the heater was broke on it or if they forgot to turn it on or something, but it was pretty cold. After that, it was fine. They have some grills outside you can cook on if you desire. The kitchen inside the room was clean and functional if you want to use it. We used it only a few times, but everything worked great. There are quite a bit of restaurants within walking distance here....there's Cici's, Olive Garden, Burger King, Sizzler, etc... Also, there is a grocery store very near as well. I love this location because it is very close to everything we did down there. It is literally 5 minutes from Downtown Disney (not even 5 minutes if you miss traffic and get the signals). Also, you can just take a right out of the parking lot down Palm Parkway and take that until it turns into Turkey Lake. Take Turkey Lake all the way to Sand Lake and take that to Universal Blvd to go to Universal. Sea World is not too far down Palm Parkway/ Turkey Lake either. I think Palm Parkway turns into Turkey Lake right where you would turn to go to Sea World. Anyways, I was very pleased with this hotel and cannot wait to go back again. At $29, you got a steal. I have a few pictures I think. I will try to post them when I get home from work ;).

Thanks for the room report post, a little worried on the cleanliness. That would be good to , not so busy. Works out better for my son who is handicapped. Also you said the pool was a bit chilly are you from the south. We are from mi. so we swim in pretty cold pool water and lake michigan BRRRR.. Just curious, it wont bother the boys but may put a damper on mom takin a nightly dip to relax.

Yeah, my rooms were always clean. I'm from Buffalo, NY, so my definition of chilly is under 87 degrees (for water). I'm also someone who is sensitive to "colder" water. I like my swimming water in the 90s....way too hot for most people ;). I think the pool does close at 10 or 11, so make sure your nightly swim isn't a midnightly swim! Also wanted to say that the couch pulls out into a bed as well!

Here are some pictures, sorry for all of my stuff in the room in the pic!:

No problem...love to help when I can. I cannot wait to get back there either. Have a great trip! Hope your stay will be as great as mine was!

jheigl....thanks so much for you room report and pic's! I too like a "hot" pool :lmao: I live in SW Fl (born and raised in NY though) and if the water isn't in the 90's, I do not go in it :rotfl2: I feel more confident going to there now after reading your review. I did read the reviews on Tripadvisor but it is always best to read it from here...:yay: I like the location since I will be doing both Disney and Universal this trip. I usually take the back road (Turkey Lake) up to Universal due to the traffic on I-4. Extended Stay works out perfect for me. I was happy when I got it thru Hotwire, just a little nervous not knowing what it would be like since I had never stayed there before. The only down side that I can see to it is that the internet is not free.. but then again, many places charge for that service, so I guess it really isn't that bad. Oh.. was there a "resort fee" that you see many other places charging...?

I couldn't tell ya...I don't think so, but don't quote me on the resort fee. As far as the internet, when I was there, I think it was only $5 for the entire stay. Again, don't quote me on that, but I believe that's what we paid last year.

thanks again for all your info...

Just giving this one a bump again to see if anyone has had any recent stays at this place. Not long to go for us now, and we'd love some more feedback on how it is! Thanks! :thumbsup2
