Express Pass Question?

We are staying at RPH for 2 nights (first visit) and thus will be eligible for express pass priviliges. If staying on sight, do you actully pick up an express pass for each ride (like Disney's Fastpass) or will our room keey simply allow us to get in the express line. Also, it is my understanding that we will not have any limits to the number of times we use express pass since we are staying on the property. Is this true?

I would welcome any advice!

All you have to do is take your room keys with you to the parks, and show them at the front of the Attraction, and the Team Member will let you in the express line. You can come back and do it over and over if you wish, so there is no limit for the room keys.

DH and DS stayed at RPH the week before Christmas and had to show their room key to get in the Express Pass lane. You can start using the privilege the day you check in through the entire day you check out. They checked into the room at 9:00 am, got the room keys (and were lucky enough to have a room ready to drop their stuff off, too), and headed right over to start riding. The following day they checked out, gave their stuff to the bell captain, and rode all day using the pass.

You were correct about it being unlimited front-of-the-line as well.

Do you just show your room key, or do you have to put it through a machine of some sort so they know it is valid?
What is a convenient way to carry them since it sounds like you will be flashing them a lot during the day? Do they sell some kind of a protector/sleeve that you could wear around your neck? I don't really want to hand them over to my 3 kids. Or, can I carry all 5 in my pocket and show them for all 5 of us?
Thanks!
Jill

You just pretty much literally walk up, and show your card, and the attendent will show you towards the Express line. When I trained at Dragons, I was told that their was a machine used to verify if they were active or not, but it's not used anymore. We just look at the dates on the card, and the dates are printed for the entire stay of your visit, including check in and check out day.

I see kids with some lanyards with a card holder around their necks, and the cards fit in there, so the park or hotel may sell them.

I have had my key scanned at The Mummy.

Oh ok. I'm sorry, my fault. At Dragons we don't have a scanner.

I'm not so sure about the other attractions. I should know this though.

Depends on the ride and the person working express. Most times on Saturday, no one checked them they saw them and motioned us on.

At various times of the year, I have occasionally had our passes scanned at Mummy, MIB, ET and Spiderman.

You can hold all the kids keys. We usually travel with our 3 kids and bring my 2 nieces too. So, I usually have my key and some combination of the younger kids keys. Usually I will just fan them out and they are glanced at. On the rare occasions that they are scanned, I just hand them the stack of key cards and they scan them and hand them back.

I usually just have a small fanny pack where I carry all the cards in the front pocket.
