We are planning a quickie trip to Orlando next month, and can spend one day at US/IOA (I'm very encouraged by the reports of those who have done the highlights of both parks in one day!). The day we plan to be there is May 21, a Saturday. Because we will not be staying onsite, I was looking into Express pass......but am a tad confused. It seems that can only buy one pass for each member of the family for ONE park. That is, one Express pass is not good in both parks. How much do they cost? I have found on the universal website where and how to purchase them, but have found nothing about the cost. Also, I can get a $6 discount on park tickets through AAA.com, but see no place there to buy the express pass. Guess I can't buy park tickets thru AAA and then buy the express pass thru universal, can I? Do I need express pass at all? Help! Some real concrete advice from someone who has used these would be greatly appreciated!

It would probably be cheaper to stay onsite for one night than get the express passes.

Your park tickets and the express plus pass are totally separate, so YES, you can buy your tickets at AAA or wherever and then get your express plus passes. The price of the express plus depends on when you go . They range from about $15 to $37 per person. There was a link somewhere on these to boards to the place on Universal's site to buy them. You can also get them at the park. OR...you can decide which park you're doing first--get there early and use the FREE express machines and then buy the express plus for the park you'll be doing in the PM.
