express pass cost? is it a good choice?

We just did the math, we have a week booked at OKW (Disney DVC members) we had planned on doing 2 days at Universal, 1 park each day, and taking a taxi over each day. We figured about $40 each way, so basically we would be paying $160 for the 2 days transportation. Then I looked at getting the express passes for us, since we have only 1 day at each park and going in OCt with shorter hours. The express pass unlimited was $99 each day and there is 3 of us. Then after reading on here and the universal site that 2 days of the express unlimited passes are included with a deluxe night stay and the hotel way $299 a night. So yes I am wasting a night of DVC points (going to universal mid trip) cuz the room in Disney will be empty but I am getting spending $299 the only 1 round trip tax @ $80 where as if I did it all seperately it would cost $760 and that is before the cost of the base tickets.

very good! That's what I was thinking. It isn't cost efficient for my extra large immediate family :)

THANK YOU

If you check the thread on the Universal hotels there is also a promotion with Cheaptickets.com for an additional 25% off (or up to 25%) using the CELEBRATE code. If you are booking a room at RPR, HRH or PBH and you are 2 adults and 1 child, just enter for 2 adults and you will see a good savings. I booked my hotel a week ago and saved $55 per room on a one night stay at RPR going in August. The only problem is I am not sure when the offer ends.

Good luck!

Thanks I just looked at it, and the rates must of gone up since I booked my trip as it was only about a $3 savings. So I assume the rack rate went up but I will continue to check. Thanks again for the info and link
