Are there parts of CC that are off limits from exploring (other then, of course, Castmember/office areas, and the teen beach). I've just noticed that there are alot of undeveloped areas, and didn't know what we're allowed to tour.

Also, the beach that is in the boating area...while I realize we can't SWIM in the boating area, are we allowed to sit on the beach there?

Reading the Passporter it said undeveloped areas are off limits.

They are pretty clear about what you're allowed to explore and what you're not. But what you are allowed to explore is large enough that I've not seen it all in three cruises. Though to tell the truth, I've never rented the bicycles, only walked along the beaches and tram pathways, and gone swimming and snorkeling.

I don't know about sitting in the boating area. I don't remember much in the way of shade, nor chairs, but I suppose you likely could if you really wanted to. I prefere a shady lounger myself. :)

It appears that most of the island is off limits. I sure couldn't see any of the buildings that I know have to be there for those who live on the island. We did rent bikes and rode all the way to the end of the bike trail, a beautiful beach at the end this is also off limits.
It would be fun if they offered a behind the scenes tour of Castaway Cay.

Only about 10% of the island is developed and available to guests. You are asked to stay on the paths and trails, and "off limits" places are clearly marked.

Most of the island is off-limits. It's really not a very friendly place -- Disney is so paranoid about lawsuits or something that they try very hard to control everything done on the island.

That said, it is usually possible to escape the constant surveillance at the far end of the adult beach. And they have never hassled me excessively while I was swimming off that beach.

The far end of the adult beach starts the area where they have kayak excursions (teen and adult). So I would expect that you could swim off the beach about as far down the beach as you like until you start to interfer with kayaks. But the adult beach area is sooo big, that there's really no point in going so far down that you start getting hassled for being "that" far down.
