Hey guys, I pretty much now understand how the photopass plus+ works. You get select ride photos included, select character meal photos included (that including some hard prints), all park photos included, bibbi photos included (were doing this for our daughter) etc etc etc

My question is I thought it said the CD was include to have copies of all of our photos because regardless once we get back we have what 30 days it says to claim our photos?

My questions are this-

1) Is the CD included to keep all of our photos on it forever? OR is that a whole different purchase we have to make (that doesnt sound like it would make sense though. I was told it was but when I looked on the website it looks seperate) ???

2) I was told you can decorate and print your photos for free at high resolution so the pictures are nice. Is this true? But how do we print them if we don't have the CD or do we .. relating back to question 1. ???

3) I found the discounted price you get when purchasing it before. Do you still have to find the photo service places in disney and go pick up your card? Is that the only way to get the PP+ cards. ???

1. yes. Once you purchase the pp+, you will receive a CD with stock photos, this is separate from the one you will get after your trip, but it is included with the price you pay. You will not have to pay anything else.
2. Once your trip is over, you go to the pp website to add borders. They will save an unedited photo along with the one with the borders, then all of the images will be put on a CD that will be mailed to you.
3. If you pre-purchase, you will receive the stock photo CD and a voucher to pick up your pp+ card. All of the parks have a location you can do this at, as does DTD.

Hope that answers your questions!:thumbsup2

Such a big help yes thanks!!

So it technically includes 2CDS. One of which will have ALL of our vacation picctures taken using our card? And we could, if we wanted, put them all onto the cd to keep them all?

- Do you pick and choose to which you want put on the cd before it's sent out to you after you vk or are all the pictures put on your CD, including the ones you put decorations/borders with?

The price is a little hefty so I just want to be sure EVERYTHING is included before and after so there's no hidden expenses i'll come across after or vk when trying to get and print our photos.

Thanks!! :)

Sorry for hijacking, but I have a related question - are there photos for Pirate's League and if so, are they included in PhotoPass +. Is there a link with a list of all rides, meals etc included?

All of your photopass pictures in your account will be put on your CD, including all the different copies/versions you have made with borders, crops, edits original. If you don't want a picture on the CD, then you have to intentionally manually delete it from your account. They also will mail you more than one CD if you have too many pictures to fit on 1 CD. Our last trip, after edits etc, we wound up with over 2000 photos, and we got 6 CDs. Once you have the CDs, you can print pictures, save the files to your computer, make copies of the CDs, etc.

You have 30 days from the date the first picture was taken to claim the photos. You claim the photos by going to the website and putting your photopass card numbers in (you might wind up with more than one card- for example at ETWB, they give you a card instead of taking yours and scanning it so that they can crank the kids through for pictures). Once you have done that, you have 30 days to edit your photos.

When you edit a photo, you save a copy and the original stays in the account. If you are going to add borders and possibly print the photos with borders on them, then you need to save a copy in every size you think you might want to print, otherwise when you print the borders can get cut off. I usually save anything I've added borders to in both 4X6 and 5X7 and sometimes if I have an absolute favorite or two I might put them in 8X10. The original photo and all the edited copies you save will all be on the CD.

I can only think of 2 possible hidden expenses: 1. shipping- but that may be included now. It seems like we have had times the shipping was included and times it was not in the past; 2. the risk that as you mess around on the photopass website you might find yourself ordering more stuff-- I almost always wind up with a mug or mousepad. :) We do one of their photobooks every trip too as those are my favorite souvenier, but I about choke every time I make one at the price of those. I've never regretting having them though!

Sorry for hijacking, but I have a related question - are there photos for Pirate's League and if so, are they included in PhotoPass +. Is there a link with a list of all rides, meals etc included?

Yes there are photos at Pirate's League and yes they are included with Photopass+.

That is a huge help! Fully answers my questions thank you, I have been so confused over this but so glad I found out about it because we spend a ton of money of the pictures, it'll be a huge save for us!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

ALSO I am too wondering about pirates league photos? I know BBB has a package where they take photos your whole time and after, does pirates league do the same type of thing??? We are also considering this but would love the professional photos through-out for the visual memories of the experience. AND if they do- are these includes in the PP+, I know some locations, aren't.

**Can anyone tell me where to go to pick up my PP+ when we get there? from what i'm understanding, thats the only way to get it? Our first day we arrive in Orlando at 9AM are going to Hollywood Studios for day 1. Where should we pick up the card?

Just back and used PP+, loved it. We went to Epcot on the day we arrived and just went to the Camera Corner to the right of Spaceship Earth and got the PP+ card.

For Hollywood Studios, it's The Darkroom on Hollywood Blvd. You just go in, hand them the voucher that you received in the mail, and you get your PP+ card and lanyard right away. Simple and easy.

I definately recommend PP+, all the attraction ride photos are included, plus the photo package from Spirit of Aloha and Chef Mickey's is included as well (along with most other character dining experiences). That alone is well worth the price. Plus when a lot of photographers saw our card they called us over to take some pictures. We've many nice shots we'd not have had otherwise.

Just don't forget it! I left it in the hotel the day we went to Animal Kingdom, and while you can get photopass cards for the regular shots, you have to return to the park within 48 hours with your PP+ card to get the attraction pictures.

I am just starting to understand the photopass + thing...so how do you get the ride photos onto your card? and there is no extra charge for each ride picture we might want? Will we still get hard copies of a photo from the ride or is it only put on the card? what about the photo we are supposed to get at the princess breakfast - is a hard copy given or is that put on the card?

I would like to know how the ride photos get on too! ;) I assume you scan after the ride......but we are a group of 10.....so I'm also wondering, if we can get mutiple pp+ cards just like the regular photo pass? (Sorry for the hijack as well!:goodvibes)

We were there a couple weeks ago and on most rides when we came out we would find our picture(s) on the monitors on the wall and usually there was someone there who had a pad that they would write your photo number(s) on. You then take that number to wherever you would buy the photo and give them the number and your PP+ card and they work their magic and put it on the PP+ card. You have to have the PP+ card to have it added, but you can go back later to add it (I'm not sure how long you have, but I'm pretty sure the same day is fine). Once we did child swap and DH went first, so he just gave me the slip of paper with the number and when I got off the ride I gave them both pieces of paper. Once or twice there wasn't a CM writing down the numbers so we just had to remember.

Like all PP cards, the PP+ card has a bar code with a unique number. When the CM scans it, your photo (whether a photo taken at a meet and greet, on Main Street or on an attraction) is "filed" under that bar code. Later, you can go online, type in your code and access the photos filed there. The card itself doesn't actually store anything - it just provides the bar code.

You can have as many photos of any kind as you like added to your card. You will not get hard copies of ride photos (unless you pay for them separately). You can, however, print as many hard copies as you like on your own at home later.

We don't do character meals, so that isn't my purview. But my understanding is that a hard copy of your photo at Akershus is included with the meal price regardless of whether you have PP+. You can also have a digital copy of the photo added to your card.

No, you cannot get multiple PP+ cards.

Yes, at CRT and Akershus a photo is included with the meal for everyone. If you have PP+ you get prints (I understand the print package is about $30 if you don't have PP+) at some of the other character meals. We got it at Chef Mickey's and Tusker House. The prints have a code you enter at the PP site to add them. For some reason the Chef Mickey's photos were there when I entered my PP+ card number, but I had to add CRT and Tusker House. Not a big deal once I read the instructions correctly and found the number on the print.

Another hijacker here ;)
We have an 8:20 (before park opens) ADR at Crystal Palace our first day at the park. Will we be able to pick up our photopass+ card before our ADR? Or, do we get a card with our pictures from CP and add it to our pp+ account afterward? We are arriving late enough the night before that we won't be going to a park on arrival. Thanks!

So do I really have to save each print in the size I want it in (8x10. 5x7, etc.) if I'm actually going to order the pictures from Walgreen's? I thought I could just pick the sz. I want when I place my order @ Walgreen's.

It depends on whether you want to print the picture with a border or not.

Because the sizes are in slightly different ratios, any picture you print in two sizes will be cropped slightly differently in each size (this is why Snapfish et al. have started offering the new "digital" sized 4x5.something pictures "for the same price" [for a smaller picture] of digital pictures--which are sometimes natively in a different ratio than 4x6--so you don't accidentally crop off someone's head if you framed the picture too tightly in the native ratio and then it's printed with a crop to fit a 4x6 rectangle).

For most pictures the small differences in the area cropped won't be noticeable, especially if the subjects (and the tip of the castle) are fairly well within the size of the frame--it will be a little more or less sky or pavement.

But, if you frame the picture with one of those Disney borders, the border will also be edited on to the picture in that ratio. So you'll lose part of the border on two sides when you print it in a different size (because it's cropped to a different ratio) and it may look weird (especially in all-the-way-around-the-picture borders). So if you're saving with borders, it's safest to save it in all the sizes you may want to print. Extra files don't cost you anything but the time it takes to save them.
