I still don't get it. I have a reservation for a dedicated 2BR at SSR. I'm on a waitlist for BWV, but I understand that they don't have dedicated 2 BR? So, at what point would they let me have a side-by-side studio and a 1 BR? How do they decide when to allow a studio & 1 BR to go as a 2 BR? Since they can get more for 2 seperate reservations of a studio & a 1 BR, why would they allow for a 2 BR?

A 2-bedroom lockoff is a 1-bedroom and a studio with a connecting door. Only the 1-bed and studios that with the connecting door can be reserved as a 2-bedroom. Both the 1-bedroom and studio will have doors to the hallway.

A dedicated is only a 2 bedroom. The second bedroom of a dedicated will normally have 2 queen beds and only one entrance.

Many families with small kids prefer a dedicated over a lock off because there is only one entrance which makes it easier to keep track of the kids. On the other hand families traveling with grandparents prefer a lock off so the grannies can have the studio with their own entrance and they can close the connecting door for more privacy...same for families with older teenagers...the teens can have the studio and keep their distance from the "rents."

If you are on the WL for a 2 BR and match, you will get a 2 BR that has a door between the 2 portions. They decide how many of those units they will use as 2 BR vs 1 BR and separate studios ahead of time and generally do not adjust the mix on the fly from what I understand.

because their contract with us (dvc members) says they have allow us to have a 2-bedroom at BWV.

first they have to have a studio and 1-bedroom free - which is not that hard - the studios are still more probably (at least for non)

so you are probably waiting for a studio to cancel. but kept in mind because you are looking for a 2-bedroom - you waitlist - also includes studio and 1-bedroom lock off.

it has some studio dedicated and I think a few 1-bedroom dedicated.
