Explain my points expiring to me for use year October 2013

The website says I have October 2013 use year points expiring September 30, 2013.

Did I get the 2013 points in 2012???

Will I get my 2014 points in 2013?

This always confuses me!!!

You cannot possibly have Oct 2013 points expiring in 2013 unless they were borrowed into the Oct 2012 use year. Thus, there is either something wrong with the system or someone borrowed points. Call MS

Antonia, I noticed the same thing with my points. I have a December use year and have not used these points yet nor did I borrow any. I have been planning a big trip for next year, 2014. Guess I have to call too.

Is it the statement that says "This Use Years points will expire at the end of September 2013." when you click on My Points?

If so, they mean the current UY which for you is currently the 2012 UY. With October, most of your UY falls in the following calendar year. Now, if you are seeing it somewhere else, then definitely call! Right now, any points you see as available, are your 2012 UY points--your banking window for those points was May 31st. If you did not bank them, I would definitely give MS a call to see if they will give you a one time exception as those will expire on September 30th, 2013.

Yes it was that statement and I still called MS and my points are not expiring. So all is good. Still a newbie at all this. Thanks for your replies.
