Explain lightning lane to me like I'm a 3 year old

Great question. Your LLPP will have a higher priority unless you are entering a LLMP attraction during a LLMP return window that you have booked or added by usage.

Does that make sense?

Dave

To confirm what @Dave006 said: we had both the LLPP and the LLMP for the same park on the same day, and the LLMP would take precedence if we tapped in to a queue during the return time window shown on the LLMP pass (so LLMP would be used, not the LLPP).

Any other time (if outside of the LLMP return window), then the LLPP would be used.

Said another way, the LLMP will have higher priority than the LLPP if you are tapping in for the ride during the LLMP return time.

We confirmed this with Guest Services, and through our own experience.

No—you can’t use PP and another park, only the park you bought it for.

Tier 1 rides are the “top” rides at every park. Tier 2 are all the other LL-eligible rides and attractions. When you book your LLMP, you are able to rebook 1-Tier 1 and 2-Tier 2 passes (or all 3 can be Tier 2). After you tap into your very first scheduled ride/attraction, you can book another tier 1 (even if you’ve not used your first tier 1 yet) and can book in a 2nd park if you plan to park hop.
Thanks, this is the answer I've been searching for! I wasn't sure if you had to use your existing tier one to book another. Are most tier ones for the entire day usually spoken for by the day of?

I think it depends on time of year you go. When I used it last year, we were there the end of Aid into beginning of Sep. it’s generally one of the less busy times to go and had no problem booking other tier 1 attractions. Even when SSS went down, I could’ve had a later return time but we were park hopping and never did get back to ride it. I was able to book/modify to get late same-day return times for Remy and FEA. But I think you’d be hard pressed to get other tier 1 rides during busiest times of year (although YMMV depending on how much you try to modify attractions same-day).

IMHO, the restrictions on LL (before you even get to the price), are enough to keep me from buying it. I'll just buy a bunch of park hoppers and figure out how to ride all the rides I want to get on. 😂 The less time I have to spend on my phone, the better.

I ended up just renting DVC so we could use the extra evening hours, I am confused each and everytime I read anything about it. And it's too pricey.
