We haven't been to disney world since you can book fast passes online 60 days out. So what do I need to know about booking FP? What is the tier system? How is everyone liking this new system for FP?

Thanks in advance : )

There's a thread in Mesaboy2's profile signature link (I think), were it has the FP+ tiers for each park and recommended priorities which is very helpful. You'll need to set up an MDE account, link your tickets to it, and then you can pre-book your FP+ choices through it, once you get to your 60 day mark if you're staying onsite. If you have a smart phone you can download the MDE app, or you can do it through Disney's site. I'm sure I'm missing some info on it which I'm sure someone else can help you with. Meet and greet with Anna & Elsa and the new 7 Dwarves coaster seem to be the top 2 attractions to book and advised to book them at 60 days out for best availability. If you're staying offsite, I think it's 30 days out from your vacation.

Thanks so much ... Yes I have the MDE app on my iPad and my iphone with resort, tickets and MVMCP tickets and ADR already booked ect. Staying at AKL and GF so yes on site. I guess I just go for it in Sept when I'm 60 days out? I just to make sure I'm not missing out on how FP works with MDE

Pretty much, once you get to the 60 day mark you can start to pre-book your FP's. Not sure what time it opens up (midnight U.S Eastern maybe?).
Reviews if FP+ are fairly mixed, with some having difficulties pre-booking, others just fine. I *think* if the time you are looking for isn't available, some have posted that you can select a different time, then go back in and the time you desire will then come available.
My trip isn't until September so I haven't got first hand experience yet with using MDE to book FP's.
But, I'm sure I've missed some if the finer details out so someone should be able to add/correct what I've put :)

Ok yes that totally makes sense ... Now what is the tier system? I'm assuming the better rides are higher tiered rides?

Correct. I think you can choose ONE Tier 1 Attraction and then TWO Tier 2 attractions. With EPCOT for example, the Tier 1 choices include Soarin', Test Track, Character Spot ( ? ) and one or two others. And then you could choose for your Tier 2 attractions Nemo and Captain EO for example.
Also, once you've used your third FP+ option, you can choose a fourth additional FP, subject to availability via one of the FP kiosks in the park, or via the app on your smartphone.
As far as I'm aware, you can't pick the same attraction more than once on your initial 3 picks.
Whether you can use your fourth FP for an attraction from one of your initial 3 choices I'm not sure in that. Hope this helps :)

Here's the link; mesaboy is doing a great job keeping it updated.
