Expiring points. Help-

I agree unless you think you are likely to have this happen again with a larger block of points.
Jim, I made the recommendation due to the fact it's 70 points and either use the one time option (if available) or have little other options. IF one is thinking they're likely to have this again based on their personal habits or situations, I'd reconsider my membership or my UY. It doesn't take much of this to make DVC a liability rather than an asset. If applicable, selling or selling to rebuy might be the best option for some. With those caveat's in mind, if they have future issues, there's a good chance there will be more lead time allowing more options.

Thank you Dean. How do I go about the one time option.

Call MS. Explain the situation that caused the expiring points (unexpected cancellation, just plain forgot to bank...whatever) and ask if there is any way to save the points. If they say no, say you've heard that sometimes exceptions are made, and if necessary ask to speak to a supervisor. Be super nice and ask for their help.

Whatever you do, don't come off with an entitlement attitude, because they do NOT owe you anything, and they will indeed be making an exception on your behalf if they can.

If they help you, thank them profusely. If they don't help you, thank them for trying.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
