Has anyone had any experience with expired Universal tickets?

We purchased 8 Disney and Universal tickets for late March 2020, and of course they were unusable then. The Disney tickets expire in September, but I was able to call Disney and apply what we paid for them to new tickets for November 2021.

However, when I called Universal about their tickets (which have January 2021 expiration date), expecting to be able to do the same thing for November, they said I would have to confact Undercover Tourist, since that is where I purchased them. When I contacted Undercover Tourist, they said I would have to contact Universal.

I emailed Universal again on Monday, but I have heard nothing back. Would appreciate any insights anyone might have regarding this situation.

That's the issue using a third party. The third party is responsible for making exceptions but their contract with Universal limits what they are allowed to do. Universal was open in January 2021, and months before.

You need to wait for a response from your current email. Still no send an email to corporate. Tell them the vendor you used is willing to work with you but they need Universal's permission.

Your vendor doesn't want to eat the cost of the tickets, nor should they.

If you escalate you may get lucky. You should have started the process prior to your tickets expiring.

I don't want to edit my post. FWIW
Universal sells promotional tickets which have use or lose expiration dates.
Those tickets wee extended to at least January 2021.
I had experience with Disney MVMCP tickets I purchased from a third party. I needed to cancel my trip for medical reasons. The vendor said their contract with Disney didn't allow them to issue refunds. Since I already linked my ticket the vendor couldn't resell it. Disney said they would have refunded if I had purchased it directly. I sent emails to Disney corporate. I said it didn't seem fair.. Disney would have refunded the ticket if I bought direct but won't let a third party refund. They made an exception. The third party issued a refund. I posted a warning about issues purchasing third party tickets. Posters thought I was wrong. Accept the terms.

Your difference. Your tickets expired. I don't know if Universal would have done anything if you purchased direct from Universal. Suggestion is to politely "beg" for an exception.
