EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

DisneyFansInNYC

We are staying in a Deluxe room at WL CL in Dec. What floor were you on to see the parade and pool.
Thanks
We were in 5123 and had an excellent view of the pool, Electric Water Pageant and we could see the geyser as well. It was really lovely to sit with coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night!

I think that Star Wars cake was about $70. I wasn't very impressed with it. I felt the zig zag pattern on top looked rushed and sloppy. The cake we had the year before was much nicer.

We've also done the 6" cake too. It's fine if you want something less expensive and small. Here's a pic:

I believe its the Yacht Club Bakery that Lurkyloo (from that thread, she maintains it and if you click on the links in the first post, it goes to pictures and information she's collected) mentioned. I just asked her about calling the Boardwalk Bakery.

So I'm deciding if I want to pick it up myself at the Boardwalk Bakery, or have in room dining deliver it, and for that I have to decide what kind of a cake I want, do I want to spend $100 on a fancy shmancy cake, or just get a basic cake and get a fancy shmancy bottle of wine!

IF you wanted a cake from Contemporary (the chefs there do amazing fancy fun cakes!) and didn't have a reservation, people have posted they have it delivered to the Wave restaurant

Back in the day a CL CM would have been more than happy to run to BW bakery and pick up the cake you ordered. Heck I can remember them going to the drug store for me to get medicine, running to DTD to get a certain toy the kids wanted, going to the grocery to get a certain brand of soda we wanted, your wish was their command. And if it required money they just put it on your room charging. Now you can't even get them to hand you a dang balloon without it seeming like a chore.

We have had several wonderful CL stays at AKL. It's definitely a unique place and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. It's really amazing to sit out on your balcony and be able to watch the animals. For my family, AKL feels like the most relaxing place at WDW.

I agree, AKL is very unique and provides a different experience from all of the other resorts, IMO. I love that it's kind of secluded as it makes for a very peaceful and quiet stay :goodvibes.

We're staying CL at WL

I went ahead and did online check in, since the list for "requests" were just floor levels, close to elevator... if I'd like to request North Wing, do I call IPO? email?

You can do either, whichever is easier for you. You could also call and have your request noted with CRO as well :).

I'm just surprised they won't do considering they're concierge.

In years past they did go the extra mile and do things for CL guests, but unfortunately, that has been one of the many changes at Disney. It seems CL/concierge doesn't do as much as they used to :(. When guests want things like cakes, etc, IPO simply gives a phone number for you to call and make the arrangements.

Instead of requesting a certain room number, it's usually a good idea to articulate your request in terms that help the room assignor understand what you would like.

I agree. If you give just a room number and that room isn't available, the room assigner will not know why you wanted that particular room, so it's always a good idea to give other requests (in order of importance). You can list the room number as one of your requests, but I'd list other requests that coincide with that room just in case that particular room isn't available.

aHA! SO CL used to be special! and like everything that has been downgraded in our world, so must Club Level. Sad that. Its nice that I don't have that to compare to, as it is, I'm not looking forward to the trip because of so many changes, I begged to take an over seas trip instead - I was outvoted! lol... So I've just made this trip different than any of our other trips, starting with CL at Wilderness Lodge!

Wow, I've never heard that one before! Not a bad idea! I should get one of the small noise machines like my nephew uses to sleep. We are actually driving this time, so that would work, but my husband is already worried about fitting everything in the car since he bought me a mid-size SUV for Christmas that is much smaller than our former full-size...having a teen and tween girl requires a lot of luggage:) but I think he's worrying about nothing.
I use the sleepMachine app on my iPhone as a noise machine.

I'm addicted to the blowing air as well, so I have to haul my fan with me everywhere I go. ;) But I have heard the app and it is awesome!

I apologize if this has been covered already in this thread (I did a search, but may have missed something). We are staying at the CR in a one bedroom suite next month. Is there any advantage or disadvantage to doing the online checkin? I have never done it. I like the personalized service you get when checking into a CL room. Just curious if anyone had any experience with online check in for a suite. Thanks!

Even though we did online check-in several times last year we were still taken up to the club level to speak with a CM. They introduced themselves, verified our personal information, printed our parking pass, and gave us a tour of the lounge. The only part we skipped was the need to hand them our credit card or sign anything.
I haven't experienced a club level stay where we were sent straight to our room, honestly I don't even know if they do that or how it would work. Maybe someone else can address it.

First time CL at Disney (AKL) I haven't been impressed with the planning so far. While making some reservation requests over the phone I was told by an IPO (who gets lots of rave reviews on here) "you and everyone else" when I said we really wanted to do BOG this time since we havent been.

He didn't get any of the more challenging ADRs I requested even though I was able to do it myself.

We booked a day with the VIP guide and they have been amazing so far. We still have 65 days (who's counting?!) until vacation and they are great. I am a seasoned Disney visitor and definitely not a difficult customer but I can see where spending the extra money for club level will probably not be something we do in the future. We will most likely put that extra money towards more hours of VIP touring.

Disappointing for sure, but not surprising. This is the main reason I do my own ADRs. I did use AKL CL last year to put me on a wait list for BOG and they came through for me about 5 days before we arrived.

Staying at WL deluxe room in July. We want to make sure that we have a room in the south wing. Who should I send this request too? Thanks in advance.

I would call or email IPO and tell them, then also call the main Disney # (CRO) and tell them as well. I find that double duty helps. ;)
I'm staying in a deluxe room in sept at WL. We will be with my toddler and want it to be easier to get to the club lounge and to the busses. So we want to be near the elevators. What would you suggest we suggest. Thanks.

I've never stayed in a deluxe room before, so I'm not really sure where those are located within the resort. Someone told me once they are a deluxe room that was way over on the Epcot side of the building, so that's quite a long walk from the elevators. Dee over on the YC/BC FAQ probably has a list of all their locations for you. I would ask there. :D

We haven't stayed in a WL deluxe room yet, but asked for a tour when staying CL in March. The CL CM who gave the tour was very helpful and made great suggestions regarding room requests. He suggested requesting "close to lounge" and "high floor" and that's our plan!

We have stayed in a deluxe room at BC. None of those are particularly close to the lounge - four of them are stacked up overlooking the quiet pool, and the other two are near Cape May and the lobby. My sense is that the rooms overlooking the quiet pool are better in terms of view and overall atmosphere (some report Cape May seafood smell is present near the other deluxe rooms, but I have not stayed in those.) It's a bit of a hike from the rooms overlooking the quiet pool, and not all of them have full balconies. Last month, when staying at BC, they gave us a complimentary upgrade from a standard CL room to a deluxe CL room and we declined the upgrade. While the extra space of a BC deluxe room is wonderful, it was a short stay and with three kids, it was easier for us to be close to the lounge. So then they assigned us a GV CL room just down the hall from the lounge - renovated and very convenient. We were willing to sacrifice space for the convenience.

Totally agree! :thumbsup2

rxtiger Those suites at the CR are just gorgeous! and what a view either Bay Lake or the MK..Not to mention the lovely lounge on the 14th floor! Enjoy!! I do believe that one of the standard CL perks is the personalized check in....so I don't think that there is actually any advantage to doing on line check in...JMO....:goodvibes
