EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

I too was at BC CL last week and was not in the least bit uncomfortable asking the CM for a Chardonnay and an IPA. I just assumed that she was serving the drinks because she was standing there. She poured them and brought the drinks to our table. She was busy and DH asked her if we should serve ourselves if she wasn't around. She said that was fine. So we just asked the CM each night for our drinks and what we should do if they weren't around.

Going to disney first time want to stay MK area which resort GF, CR or Poly club level is best for adults only trip?

I can only comment on the GF as I've never stayed CL at the Poly or CR (have never stayed at CR at all), but having stayed both RPC and SL at the GF, RPC would be my choice for an adults only trip. The GF itself is a great resort, but RPC is amazing. The food offerings are great, the lounge has a relaxing atmosphere, the views from the lounge are beautiful, and the CL CMs are wonderful. It's also nice to sit in the lounge and watch the hustle and bustle of the lobby below, all while listening to the orchestra play. With that said, I have read a lot of great things about Poly and CR CLs (both of which are on our list to try).

i am just reading all this now about the BC/ YC "bartending" and i am horrified! we are not big drinkers but i ALWAYS have wine on vacation. let's face it, disney is not the most relaxing vacation and at the end of a day of commandeering my whole family through every ride, meal, transportation issue, etc., i look forward to the end of the day to finally relax with a nice glass. i would absolutely die if a CM said in front of my kids that i needed to wait to have another drink or if they in any way implied that i was overdoing it (since i don't ever over-do it). that is just in such poor taste. someone ought to have to be truly visibly intoxicated for them to comment in that manner.

I'm thinking about going next week (have AP) which is why I'm booking so late and was wondering what CL resort you would recommend other than GF and CR (already stayed there).

By your name it looks like you are a fan of Animal Kingdom...how about AKL? We loved it when we stayed CL there in 2013.

So it looks like if I want CL for next week (4/14-4/20), it's either Standard room - CL at Wilderness Lodge or TPV - CL at Poly. I'm really leaning towards WL since it's only like a 5 min bus ride to MK and as far as I know there's no construction going on there. Decisions, decisions.

I really think this is an isolated incident as I was there at the same time and had a very different experience.

I agree here and like I mentioned in an earlier post, we had a great trip at the YC CL back in October and didn't have any issues getting any alcohol.

We've never stayed CL at the Poly, but we loved everything about WL CL. The food offerings were great, the lounge was nice and spacious with plenty of seating, and the CL CMs were awesome. If you want to avoid the construction at the Poly, I think WL CL is a great choice. Good luck.

I agree. We've stayed Poly CL twice (most recent in January this year) and WL CL once (last month!) We stayed Poly CL for Marathon Weekend during construction because we love Poly, and because it was a great location for our spectators. We spent most of our time focused on running and didn't need the pool. So we loved our stay and were happy with Poly CL - but our circumstances were unique. For a typical stay, we're avoiding Poly until construction is entirely complete. Too much worrying about what will be open when, and even with the lava pool opening, the condition of the resort is a little too uncertain for us. We just enjoyed a wonderful WL CL stay and highly recommend it!

I'm sure you will get a vote for each of these hotels depending on who is replying. I don't know when you are going, but there is still a lot of construction going on at the Poly right now, so I would avoid it if you are going anytime soon. I agree with Mickeynut on GF RPC (main building club level) 100%! However, it is expensive, so it depends on your budget. My husband and I go to RPC for our anniversary (without our kids) every year and love it. We love to listen to the big band music! I like the pool areas and grounds better at GF than at CR too. You can always stay in The outer building club level at GF for less money, but I prefer being in the main building for convenience and the fact that you can sit in the CL lounge and listen to the band instead of fighting for a seat in the lobby.

I hope so. However given the way club level in general has changed over the last several years I have to wonder if there is more to it then that.

Going second week of October, does that make a difference?

Can I just say how much I love Poly IPO? I got the letter from them yesterday saying that no cabanas would be available at the poly this summer:( My dad has a severe sun allergy and can only be in the sun for short times. he LOVES the poly and always gets a cabana each afternoon to watch the grandkids play, et. I asked them about reserving a table with an umbrella, and they replied that they could not do that, but are going to book us a cabana at the GF instead to use for one full day to make up for it. They are so helpful!

Construction on the quiet pool at Poly is supposed to begin mid April and go until early 2016, so you might want to skip the Poly. However, if you really had your heart set on Poly for it's tropical feel, you could probably book a theme park view CL room ( which would be on the other side of the building from the quiet pool) and be ok since the bungalows are supposedly completed and the lava pool has reopened. The view from the lounge is really nice since it looks at MK. I personally prefer the grandeur of the GF (especially RPC) and then we will make reservations at Narcoosee's and/or California Grill to have a great dinner and watch the fire works. I have not stayed CL at CR because we had a bad experience of waking up to the napkin spin song at Chef Mickey's early every morning when we stayed there years ago. Other people really love CR CL because of the view from the CL lounge, but I prefer to have the band and go have dinner (or just drinks, if you wanted) at Cali Grill and get the same view. The noise thing at CR may not be an issue since CL is on the 12th or 14th floor, but GF is just more my style...but everyone is different. I honestly would like to try CR CL someday, but it would have to be a split stay because neither I nor my husband would give up GF for the whole trip (if staying in the monorail loop). The Poly would be my second choice if not for the construction. We did a split stay last Oct. and the construction was ridiculous, but the lava pool was closed and they were still working on the main lobby. It should be much better now with a lot of the walls down. I'm going to be at GF RPC Oct. 7-14, so if you decide to go there, maybe I'll see you there:) I'll have my kids however. Good luck with your decision!

Very nice! We are huge fans of cabanas at Poly and are so sad to hear they are not returning. How awesome the Poly IPO could secure you a cabana at GF!

We are currently contemplating between trying out GF main building or else going with what we know we love -- Poly TPV. Both are available with the AP discount during our week in July.....

I'm the one who posted about our incident with the bartending at BC last week. Please don't let it scare you off :). It was only one incident with one CM. The other CM's were outstanding. The refurbished lounge and rooms are very, very nice! I posted our room pictures in this thread, probably a few pages back now.
