EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

This. I think we should all leave it at this. I'm not trying to pick on you. There is no excuse for CL not having enough food for all guests. Disney has exact information about every guest! Surely they can figure out how much food each guest wants. I don't think it is acceptable to blame the guests.

I definitely think they need to have enough food. Disney is responsible for making sure guests have what they need. However, we should all practice good manners. A lot of the problems that I encountered was more a lack of good manners than anything. I don't know why basic etiquette goes out the window at WDW. For instance, if you were at someone's home and they brought out appetizers, what would you do? For me and for my family, that means taking one so that everybody has a chance to sample that particular appetizer. You would not take enough to satisfy your full appetite right then, you'd come back and take one more as they brought out more. The same would be true at a happy hour at a bar or restaurant. Most of the time, the polite behavior is what I've seen at the WDW club levels, with the exception of the occasion noted where one group would take all or nearly all of the offerings leaving nothing for the folks waiting in line.

I think this is important - to truly ask to speak to a manager - and also when we get back home, if everyone writes to wdwguest communicate displeasure - that maybe things will change - this seems to be a "cost cutting" measure, it costs to have someone do turn down service, it costs to provide water bottles (why its more than providing other drinks is beyond me! You'd think they could get a discount and their costs can't be more than 50 cents a bottle of water)

oh, we're going to be there too - but then we move over to Beach club! (I'll probably be the one asking to talk to a manager if I get there before posted times and they are cleaning! ;) From what I've read WL CL is different than the BC - we're staying DVC at Beach Club!)

I don't have any experience with WL CL except when we were Flag Family of the day and had breakfast there. Was just wondering what is different about WL CL from BC CL?

We used it at GF in Feb. and have already been informed about it for our BC CL stay in April. GF set us up prior to our stay, BC just told us about the service and that the will set up the text number at check in. We really enjoyed the service BUT there was rarely anything available that we really wanted later in the day even at a "slower" time.

We used it more for last minute dining reservations than anything. It was just faster to text them and they always got back to us right away.

We were at GF in February also, and they had the texting service, but it took forever for them to respond at times. One day, we were at MK and had used our 3 fast passes so we tried to text, but they took so long to respond that my husband called someone (either the IPO or the concierge desk at RPC, not sure which) and we actually did get fast passes for Winnie the Pooh -which I happen to like). It was really nice. I am glad to hear that the texting service is at BC too because we did use it some, and maybe they have worked out some of the issues so they can reply faster. BTW, it was packed when we were there! It was supposed to be a really low crowd level, but there were so many groups there that it was way off!

We never had problems with them getting back to us quickly. However, there was not a lot of availability for attractions for extra FP's. We were in RPC and the resort was very crowded for that time of year.

We will be staying in a deluxe CL room at BWI from 7/11-7/16. :yay: We are two adults and two teenagers and will be using our balcony quite a bit so a larger balcony is essential. I will be requesting a third floor room and I am interested in the rooms above the Seashore Sweets. Does anyone know how close the stairs and laundry are?

My family stayed on the 14th floor last July. We had a 2q, aK, a 2B suite and a 1B suite. All of the rooms could be booked by category at that time. They were also all on the MK side.

The lounge was beautiful and almost felt that we had it by ourselves. The views for the fireworks were unbelievable and the balconies were extremely roomy especially compared to the other floors including the 12th which I have stayed on before.

Erika, I have several pictures but I have never uploaded them. They are mostly on my phone. I could probably send you some if you PM me with an email or phone #.

I don't know about the laundry, but the stairs are RIGHT by the three deluxe CL rooms on the third floor. You just take them up one floor and you'll be immediately at the desk and entrance to the regular CL floor. For us, not a big deal at all and worth the extra balcony space.

I don't have experience with CL, except from what I've read on the disboards... I love that you had the experience of Flag Family, that must have been amazing!

The things I've read about CL include the food offerings, and how they are presented, but I can only go on what people post, sometimes that is a "scewed" view as people who have a good time, don't post, but people that have negative experiences tend to post more... whether that's true or not, I have no idea! I just know I'm looking forward to our June vacation, and I'm glad I chose WL... and I think we will enjoy CL... I haven't read too much about turn down service at WL... I have read that "at this time" (because things can change) there isn't a CM pouring drinks...

I think I may have already asked this in the GF faq, but if you stay at the GF outer building 1 br suite - does the CL access include the RPC in the main building? TIA

Update: yes it does

Never mind, misread your question.

We've done both. BC several times.

We always get great service at BC: always greeted at arrival, always feel welcome, several extras we didn't expect. The lounge has been remodeled recently since our last stay. Our only concern with either BC or YC was the lounge size, which has been expanded.

We liked WL. we noted three sort of unique aspects of WL's CL. Most CL's don't go over any rules. At WL, they did. Mostly, it was nice to hear, but a few were a little odd to have spelled out.

Second, WL is one of few lounges that closes between food offerings! No drinks or apples!. Most offer drinks all day: 7am-10pm, and a fruit basket 24hours. The fruit basket is simple, but at least late arrivals can have an orange.

Third, WL food style fits the theming of the resort. Where GF tends towards tarts and most CL's tend to small portion hot appetizers (previously dumplings)...the WL tended towards comfort foods like hot cobbler and stew. they also had some yummy salads (Caprese) (BC had similar). Only BC has had lobster, though CR has rock shrimp one day (or at least did).

The lounges periodically revise menu offerings. Sadly, the trend has been downwards.

This was ALL the food for about 30 people! Except outside this image tiny turkey wrap rolls.(sushi roll size) The back tray is just bread!

Previous visits if any platters ran out, they were quickly replenished. Our most recent visits when these micro meat offerings ran out, they were not replenished. We arrived about 5:15pm to empty platters. One was finally replenished 10-15minutes later, the second was replenished 20minutes later with a lesser item (tiny spinach pies in place of steak).

FYI- the top two pictures of my first post are the two sides of WL - so ALL that food was offered at the same happy hour.
A picture is worth a 1,00 words!

If you go to the top of this thread. most images date to before the cutbacks. I think I can guess which are post cut back.

I thank you - you are right a picture is worth a thousand words - I just wonder if it would make any difference to write to Disney, I agree that there can be greedy people that take more than there share - I also agree with the PP who talked about just taking a "share" - when I worked with teenagers we tried to teach them - this is the food for all of us... its a concept we taught... but... we are paying for a service - this is not free - - I stayed at a Comfort Inn, breakfast is FREE - and yet, they provided food, replinished food, I got there 5 min before breakfast ended, and I was surprised when the worker asked me what I would like, and she provided me with 2 egg patties and 2 biscuits! Service... and it was FREE!

I get Disney needs to make cutbacks, I get that they are pinching pennies in an effort to make their shareholders happy - but this is an eye opening picture... and the only way those things change is if they get thousands of letters! Otherwise, the people that are dissatisfied don't return, and the people wanting to try it - they are still lining up, the rooms aren't empty... its just sad.

We are staying Yacht Club standard view club level. What can I expect for my view? WIll we have a private balcony?

First I was quite surprised how nicely they offered to get me coffee or wine when the lounge was closed. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and welcome.

Second, I was also surprised when I noticed beer stocked in the frig about 1pm. I just happened to peek in there and see it.

I agree that the food was more homey! It was nice change of pace for me. I even noticed tomato juice stocked in the cooler in the mornings, something the mono resorts don't have.

I love the monorail resort cl's! I hit them all and wl too in 2014/15. I was quite satisfied with all the offerings. I still haven't tried akl or boardwalk area to compare but that picture doesn't show much for offerings!! Thanks for posting those comparison pics, they do help with planning.

The pictures from the Beach Club renovated lounge on the early pages is what I've experienced food-wise on the club levels. I didn't visit during the glory days, and I think I'm glad or else I'd be feeling pretty let down. It looks like they used to provide an actual meal on the club level, where now it's just amuse-bouche. It looks like they are expecting people to get just a bite of each item to taste and that's it. I also had the same experience of food not being replenished as quickly as it should have, which added to the frustration when one or two people would take it all.
