EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

So, I made a CL reservation at the Contemporary (1 room and a 2BR suite) in early August. Our dates are April 19-25, 2015. IPO has yet to contact us and our 180 day mark is October 3. I typically make our own ADRs so not that big of a deal but I am a bit upset that we have not been contacted given the amount of money we will be spending on our rooms alone. I'm using this as a test though to see how long it takes them to contact me. However, if they don't contact us by next week, I will email them with a bit of a complaint that no one bothered to contact me. This trip is for my son's 30th birthday and I want it to be special but I hate to have to chase IPO - it is their job to contact me and help me in any way needed.

Your vacation plans sound lovely. It really is sort of hit or miss if any of the IPO's contact the guest first. Just my opinion, I don't believe it has anything to do with the IPO's not doing their job. I think it's probably it's more caused by Disney's odd computer systems. I find it much easier to just email or call them and introduce myself. If you email, put your last name and reservation number(s) in the subject line. The contact info for The Contemporary is in post #2 of this thread. I'm sure they will be happy to help you plan for a wonderful birthday celebration! :flower3:
 
What is it you need IPO to do for you that you can't do yourself?? I would want/did book my own ADR's and fp's, I think I received an email 60 days out, though I did contact them prior with room requests and advise of late arrival. Not sure what you need them to do for you?? Am I missing something??

Some people like to use them to make their ADRs; I have done in the past because I didn't have time to sit at my computer or on the phone to do them all. Also, it can be easier to ask them to book other things as well. I certainly wouldn't have them book my FP+ but I guess someone could ask them to do that. They have been helpful in getting hard to get reservations. It is a service that WDW provides to help any CL guests to plan their itinerary.
 
Not sure if this has been posted on here yet, but the BC CL Lounge is done! Reports are that it is fabulous! Cannot wait to see the pics.
 

We are staying first time CL at Wilderness Lodge in June, as such I love reading everything I can to prepare and to soak in the Disney love....

I came across this "Dining Report" that the poster stayed one night CL and did an excellent job of pictures and descriptions I thought someone might also like to read and see the pictures....

Took the plunge and booked the WL CL for 4 nights for our pre-Christmas trip. Sent an email off to the IPO and I'm waiting to hear back. Since we are so close to our trip, I've already made most of my dining reservations but it would be nice to have someone else checking on a few things I want to tinker with!

Looking forward to our trip more and more!

I think I need some guidance on what to expect in terms of a response from IPO.

I asked for help with two reservations and was told what I wanted was not available. The CM did not offer to continue to check for me periodically. That seemed odd to me.

Next I asked about a non-chocolate welcome for my chocolate averse child. I was told they did not have a non-chocolate option. The CM did not suggest any alternatives.

I've always been so impressed by the accounts I've seen here of CL and CM responsiveness.

I'm kind of left scratching my head and wondering why I'm paying a lot of money to upgrade to CL if this is the response and welcome I'm getting at the outset.

So what is the norm?
 
Quick question. Does anyone have any room suggestions for WL CL? Will be there 12/12-20 for DH 40th birthday and want to give him the best room possible. We have a standard club room.

I agree with the pp that getting contacted by IPO seems to be hit or miss sometimes and is probably due more to computer issues rather than IPO CMs not doing their job. As the pp said, I'd contact them if you have something specific you want them to do for you as I'm sure they would be more than happy to help with anything you need :).

WL CL is a great choice any time of year, but especially so during the holidays as the lodge is gorgeous at Christmas time :santa:. Have a great time!!

Which IPO? How soon is your trip?

On the reservation that isn't currently available-
I'm not a huge fan of only asking the IPO to check for you for a couple of reasons. Why? Because as far as I can tell they only check about once a day. Your chances of scoring the reservation you want are much, much better if you make a quick check yourself several times a day. The other reason is that if you have any flexibility in your schedule, you might find the restaurant you want at another day/time. Only you would know that might work, and could make the quick switch.
Maybe the best is to ask them to check, and then you check, too. If you grab something, shoot them an email and let them know you secured that particular reservation.

I don't recall an IPO just offering to keep checking for a reservation I was trying to obtain. When I've asked, they have always said yes, they'll try.

They may not have another option for their welcome chocolates. I'd probably bring something along in a situation such as that. (Candy or treat that I knew the child would enjoy.)
Or, you could ask for them to shop (at your expense) for something. Are you thinking of a stuffed animal or something like that?

Honestly, I'm not trying to make excuses for them, it's just that they are better at some things than others. One other thing, most of the IPO's seem to be much more formal in their emails than over the phone. I've found it's easier to get suggestions about options, give a budget range, and so on when I call.

We are now less than 60 days away from our first WL CL stay and I couldn't be more excited!!!! I keep looking up pictures and videos! The food looks amazing!!! I love that snacks and drinks are footsteps away from our room!!! I have a feeling we will be hooked after this trip!!! We are celebrating our 10 year anniversary here and we're really looking forward to the tree and the amazing decorations!!! Thanks to everyone for all your help and advice! I love reading all of your posts!!

Oh thank you would love that! Can't really think of to much right now. Just little things like how far are the rooms away form the lounge and how are the offerings? I've stayed at GF In sugarloaf so I have an idea how most of this works. Also know that the foods are different. Thanks agin for your offer. Hope you have a fantastic trip!
