EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

:scratchin

Hmmm.... I would be frustrated too. Shall I request "near lounge"? Though we wouldn't want to be right on top of the lounge. Honestly, I'd rather have LV, but right now, we've bumped our cost up to move to YC from WL in the first place, and lost free dining, I think I shouldn't bump up the next level just for the view - it's around $60 per night more.

The GV rooms aren't really near the lounge, but I get what you are trying to do. I think we were just unlucky, I don't think they commonly move people to another floor. We just happened to be a family of 4 and the only GV room left was a king bed. So they had no other choice than to put us somewhere else. Dee over on the FAQ knows for sure how many they have, I think she told me 2 king rooms and 3 rooms with queens. That might not be right, it's been about a year ago that she told me. I will go look in my inbox and see if I still have her message.

Nope, I don't have her email from last summer anymore. But if you message her at: natebenma I'm sure she will tell you. :)

Hello!

Do I have this correct....

On Friday, our last day, we have an Ohana breakfast, so I check out before I leave for Ohana. BUT....if I wanted to use the pool after checking out that is allowed, but I will not have access to CL services and food?

Just to assure you, you will. We just stayed YC CL. On our last day, we checked out of our room, loaded our car with our luggage, and then hit a park, intending to start our drive home later that afternoon. On our way back from the park, the kids begged to go swimming and stay longer, and we started reconsidering our decision to leave that afternoon, so we checked BACK into the hotel for that night only in a standard room since we were going to be driving home bright and early before breakfast was set out in the lounge and it wasn't worth it to stay another night CL. Even though we were then checked into a regular room, we still had access to the lounge until 10 p.m. and the CMs working in the lounge said it was fine to keep on coming up until the lounge closed.

How late could we stay if we requested late checkout? And how likely are they to grant it? ME comes at 4pm.

We had a canceled flight last summer at BW CL, and they allowed us to stay in our room (which was not going to be occupied after we left) until 1 while we sorted things out with the airline. We were told that was the latest they could accommodate us.

Unless things have changed, it's usually free until 1 pm (if it's available and the room isn't needed right away). After that, it's half a night's room rate until 3 pm; and a full night's rate after 3 pm.

Food offerings end at 10 pm (which is also when the CL CMs leave), but you will have access to any offerings/services until that time even though you are technically "checked out" of your room (the same way you are allowed to use the other amenities of that resort) :).

Thanks :goodvibes. I will definitely keep Zebra Trail in mind as a request as I think I'd rather be on the same side as the pool and restaurants as well ;).

If you look at the map we were on 4th floor Zebra, and in first room of the 3rd pod. Nice having an end room and was right near elevator down to pool/Mara. To get to elevator to CL, you have to walk along the hall that looks out on lobby and take that elevator. Not bad, since your walking in air condition hall! Prob same amount of time walking along a long WL hall. The view from our room was great. I wouldn't want 1st pod as Arusha Rock protrudes and you may not get as good a view. My girlfriend was further down the hall and was over the watering hole which was very nice too.

Thanks so much for all of your information....I really appreciate it :flower3:.

I thought I would ask my YC CL peeps....

What is GV? I know they have a standard view room, but in CL, what is considered GV versus SV

I am planning to stay at BC CL September 2015
This will be our first time staying deluxe. We go to WDW every 3 years, my DH has informed me this is our last WDW trip for a long time that we must vacation somewhere other then Disney. With that said I want to make this trip the best yet (in hopes he will want to come back in 3 years) LOL

I have read so many reviews that seem like the main reason peoples stay CL is for the food at CL. But I have also read that you are not to make a meal out of the CL offering.

Does anyone just stay CL for the upgraded service? Is the service better staying CL then Standard?

I am sorry if this has already been answered but I am still reading through this thread and have only made it to page 73.

1. Are the garden cottages at BWI-CL being remodeled or were just completed with their remodel that BWI is currently undergoing? I read a not so hot review from earlier about the cottages not being in great condition and was wondering if they are being refurbed?

2. I am still trying to decide if CL in general makes sense for us or not? It is just DH and me on our WDW trips (we are in our 30's). We don't have children. DH prefers a full hot leisurely breakfast in the morning (we are NOT RD people, but we always go in September so that is usually not an issue for us). I like to book my ADRs myself as I have fun constantly moving meals around. I wouldn't mind help with things like booking Illuminations or Wishes private cruises (not sure if the CL CM staff help with that or just tell you where to call?). So if we wouldn't be eating breakfasts most mornings, in your expert opinions, do you think there is enough value there for us for CL?

Thanks!

Garden view is greenery, lawn, trees, gardens, shrubs, etc. Standard is rooftop, front entrance, road, bus stop.

I definitely don't stay for the food , we love big sit-down meals at dinner time and really only use the lounge for breakfast. I find the personal service is really what brings us back over and over. :)

From what I've been told the cottages are all done and the lounge is done. Maybe someone else can verify, but I believe it's all completed. :)

Thank you. The service is really what I am after. MY DH and I do work hard, so vacation time is a time where we are all about the family and just putting real life aside, kind of like our reward for all of us for working so hard.

I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!!!!

We don't stay CL every trip but when we do, it's more for the lounge than the food. We spend more time at the resort than we do the parks and I love having a place to go and relax other than in our room or around the resort. We always do a TS for dinner every night and aren't usually around for the evening appetizers, but if you are a light eater, you can certainly make a meal out of the offerings.

As I posted above, when we stay CL it's more for the lounge than the food offerings. If you think you would spend some time in the loung relaxing, having a drink, etc. I think CL would be worth it as it's nice to have that extra pampering. I'm not sure if IPO still books those cruises or not, but hopefully someone with experience with that will be able to answer that for you.

Thanks!!

You're welcome.

For me, the service only comes into play if I were to use them to make my ADRs, which, like you, I like to make on my own. We don't do any extras in Disney typically, but it's nice to have the staff at your disposal if you want someone to give you a hand with that… Honestly, I don't think that CL service is that top-notch: For example, a few months ago, I asked the IPO to make my ME reservation, and they sent me the link to do it myself. :confused3

So why do we keep booking CL? A breakfast ready and waiting a few steps from our door, snacks, drinks, and because it makes us feel special. And usually, because the cost is worth it: With five of us, refillable mugs cost about $100 a trip. Factor in breakfast for all of us every day and a few glasses of Disney-priced wine or beer, and that's the cost of the upgrading the room. Since we're not big eaters, we can definitely get by on eating a few hors d'oeuvres and getting a small snack at a walk-up counter and calling it dinner one or two nights, too.

If your husband likes a hot breakfast, CL offerings will likely not satisfy him. (And they are very boring and repetitious if you're a healthy eater and try to avoid excess sugar and carbs.) And certainly, the snacks put out at lunch and dinner are not substitutes for meals--you might be able to get by with skipping a meal or two on a day where you're not as hungry or don't feel like doing a sit down meal, but not your entire trip.

So for us, it's really not the service--it's more about convenience and paying maybe a little bit more for the things we'd need to buy anyway (breakfast, snacks, drinks) and having them at our disposal throughout most of the day.

I like the food  enjoy breakfast in the lounge. Some CL lounges have afternoon tea with biscuits cream & jam. And I like the evening Appies, I'm more of a grazer, so we'll have a late lunch at a TS, then enjoy evening Appies, Wine, & desserts in the lounge.

My first CL stay we were on DDP, and never got to enjoy the Appies in the evening or desserts.

We prefer to do our own ADRs, so only time I used CM service was at AKL to book a tour. It is nice to go to lounge to do your check in instead of standing at the main desk in line. Also having a lounge is nice to hang out in.

So for us, if I'm not eatting the CL food, there is no advantage to staying CL. Rooms are the same size. But that's just me.
